I see sooooooooooo many people, even Sanji fans, who treat it as fact that Sanji would’ve stayed with Pudding if she didn’t erase his memory of her kiss (when I tried to argue otherwise with someone they responded “why else would Pudding erase it?”)…and wow, way to miss the point of Whole Cake Island. There are One Piece fans who watched/read the entirety of WCI and still came away with the conclusion Sanji, when no longer blackmailed, would’ve prioritized a woman who kissed him over the Straw Hats when the arc was dedicated to demonstrating the opposite, and it upsets me how viral a takeaway that is

It is super bizarre because the whole point of WCI was the crew ALWAYS comes first for Sanji, to the point he was literally willing to live through his own hell and DIE if it meant the crew would be safe.

At most, I think he'd bring Pudding with him to make sure she's safe, as he asked something somewhat similar to Viola in Dressrosa to make sure she was safe. But Pudding clearly was not willing to leave as her situation with her own family was complicated and she was still close to them in a messed up way.

But Sanji literally SOBBED to Luffy, SOBBED! That he wanted to go back to the Sunny. He was NEVER going to stay there for Pudding unless he truly had to or was forced to, and I really don't know why people think anything else.

I always saw her taking the memory of her kissing Sanji as something for HER to hold onto and look at, not to mention she was INCREDIBLY shy. She didn't even KNOW if Sanji really liked her because he became very distant when realising she originally hated him, for all we know she was worried about his reaction upon being kissed. Why would Pudding think Sanji would give up being with his crew to stay with her at all? She doesn't even have the self confidence to even believe he would do that LMAO.

To me it read pretty clear she did that to keep the memory herself, and because she's terrified of the reaction from the person she's fallen for (for the first time EVER mind you) upon kissing them.

And yes you are going crazy she has literally always run away, whined and cried at danger ever since she's been allowed to open up and stop having to pretend to be brave after Arlong Park. She's literally close with Usopp (and Chopper) for that very reason, she's complained and sobbed to Luffy multiple times due to Luffy pulling them into danger she wanted no part of. I strongly advise you to go back and re-read One Piece if you think Nami sobbing or whining at any sign of danger or peril is character assassination lmao

nadeko: she'd most likely focus on her pink eyes. they're a unique feature that naturally draws attention to her gaze. she takes a bit of pride in how people tend to notice them and sometimes even compliment her on them, which in turn boosts her confidence. it's a subtle yet noticeable trait that adds to her allure. while it might not be the only thing, her pink eyes definitely play a role in enhancing her overall charm.

kaguya: if kaguya were ever forced to identify her “charm point,” she probably wouldn't care enough to give a satisfactory answer at all. she’d likely dismiss the question outright or offer a sarcastic, “i don’t have one.” but she would probably say her red ribbon, as it was a gift from nadeko. from nadeko point of view she would indeed point out kaguya's silver hair

haruka: their "charm point" is a bit of a mystery, given her seemingly "normal" physical appearance. ruka would say it’s their round face and soft cheeks that would make sense as a potential charm points. however, others might struggle to pinpoint a specific feature that stands out on haruka, as her unremarkable appearance could make it difficult for people to latch onto a particular charm point.

thank you for the question, ein! i’ll put it this way: before moving to Namimori, birthdays in the Muramaki family were celebrated on a grand scale, although siblings’ grandfather was rarely present for these celebrations. for Nadeko, her birthday was her own special holiday, a particular day when she could receive anything she wanted. however, the older she grew, the heavier this day felt for her; the expectations and the fanfare began to feel more like a burden than a joy.

but that first year living in Namimori was special for them. Nadeko didn't want a huge crowd, preferring to celebrate only with her closest family and friends, complete with a cake made by Ryosuke. at the time, Nadeko wasn't particularly keen on spreading the word about her birthday at school, but thanks to Miyako everyone found out. this led to many of her classmates offering her verbal congratulations.

Yamamoto also congratulated her, even inviting her to come by Takesushi to try some birthday-special sushi! Nadeko declined his offer at the time, but… spoiler alert, she did end up going, choosing a time when she thought Yamamoto wouldn't be there. of course, he showed up at the most inconvenient moment anyway.

getting back to the main point, she felt a bit awkward with all the sudden attention and congratulations, but deep down, it made her incredibly happy. they celebrated at home with Ichiro, Itsuki, Ryosuke, Miyako, Kaguya, and Kei, and then spent the whole night wandering around the town (Ryosuke stayed behind to wash the dishes!). it was in that quiet atmosphere, when the town was asleep, that their boisterous group of teenagers could hang out on the playground, gazing up at the stars. it was a perfect, serene end to her special day.

2. What their love letters look like

oh hm 🤔 i’m not sure they wrote each other love letters, to be honest. I think yamamoto would leave nadeko things with some kind of notes: a signed baseball, a bent practice sword left near her stuff as long as no one sees. what about nadako, I think she would try to write something, but knowing her.... it would probably be something like a single, impossibly sharp calligraphy stroke on a scrap of paper

Nadeko saw Yamamoto as a typical, overly friendly athlete – a "baseball idiot" with a too-loud laugh and suspiciously easy charm. she clocked his popularity and easygoing nature immediately. while polite on the surface, internally she was wary. his constant presence around her brother Ichiro made him a potential variable, someone who could disrupt her carefully controlled world or influence Ichiro negatively. she found his perpetual sunshine naive and possibly fake, putting him firmly in the "friendly acquaintance to monitor" category. his athletic skill was noted, but not enough to override her initial suspicion.

Yamamoto's First Impression of Nadeko:

Yamamoto saw Nadeko exactly as the world presented her: the beautiful, impeccably polite, and terrifyingly smart "perfect student," Murakami Nadeko. he recognized her as Ichiro's clearly protective younger sister. he found her impressive – her grace, her achievements, her obvious devotion to her brother. however, he also sensed the distance immediately. her perfection felt like a polished shell, a little too flawless to be entirely real. he noticed the effort behind the image, the way she seemed constantly "on." while he was naturally friendly towards her (as he was to everyone), he intuited she wasn't someone you could easily get close to, which made her quietly intriguing. he respected her, but knew there was more beneath the surface.
