THE FOOL >:D
….ughhh.
Alright— So I’ll give you a recent one. Mostly because I almost always relay all my embarrassing moments to you immediately after they happen and there’s no way I can remember which ones I haven’t told you out of the vast number of embarrassing moments I go through on a weekly, if not daily, basis.
A few days ago I was baking cookies with one of my teammates over at the institute building where they let students use the kitchen and their supplies so long as they clean up the mess afterwards. During the baking process, I soon came to need a tablespoon.
Looking in the drawer, however, I could only find what appeared to be an odd looking tablespoon with a wooden handle and a hole in the bottom of the spoon itself. At this point, I believe it would be important to note that I am in no way a cooking/baking expert, but as time had progressed since arriving at the kitchen, I soon became aware of how hopelessly clueless by baking partner was when it came to preparing food. (Which ultimately inflated my ego, making me feel like a pretty damn good baking pro)
Upon discovering this strange tablespoon, I must’ve stared at and analyzed it for a good solid 30 seconds before spinning around, waving it through the air, and practically shouting, outraged, “WHAT THE HECK KIND OF TABLESPOON IS THIS? THERE’S A HOLE IN IT! WHAT IDIOT DESIGNED THIS?!”
My teammate, who had been chatting with her friend, just kind of stopped and looked at me for a few seconds… then her friend, who was also staring, said-
“That’s a melon scoop.”
She then had to explain to me what a melon scoop was because I had no fucking idea. And all the while, I could hear and see this girl in the other room laughing her ass off at me and trying to apologize for eavesdropping.
My cooking skills and intuition has been shamed…. but in the end, I did learn that melon scoops are pretty cool, though….
