Thinly sliced ribeye steak, caramelized onions, bell peppers, and gooey melted cheese are all put between two slices of crispy sourdough bread to make the Ultimate Steak Melt. This meal is filling and can be eaten for lunch or dinner.
Ingredients: 2 ribeye steaks, thinly sliced. 1 onion, thinly sliced. 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced. 4 slices provolone cheese. 4 slices Swiss cheese. 8 slices sourdough bread. 2 tablespoons butter. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Season the thinly sliced ribeye steaks with salt and pepper. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers. Cook until they are soft and caramelized, about 10 minutes. Remove and set aside. In the same skillet, add the remaining butter. Add the seasoned ribeye steak slices. Cook until they are browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and set aside. Preheat a panini press or a clean skillet over medium heat. To assemble the sandwiches, lay out 4 slices of sourdough bread. Layer each with a slice of Swiss cheese, cooked steak slices, caramelized onions and bell peppers, and a slice of provolone cheese. Top with the remaining slices of sourdough bread. Place the assembled sandwiches on the panini press or skillet. Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 4-5 minutes per side. Once cooked, remove from heat and let cool slightly before slicing in half. Serve warm and enjoy!
