These Green Chile Cheeseburgers are a Texan classic, featuring juicy beef patties topped with melted cheddar cheese and roasted green chiles. The lime-cumin mayo adds a zesty kick to this delicious burger.
Ingredients: 1 pound ground beef. 4 slices of cheddar cheese. 4 hamburger buns. 4 roasted green chiles, peeled and seeded. 1/2 cup mayonnaise. 1 tablespoon lime juice. 1 teaspoon ground cumin. 1 teaspoon garlic powder. Salt and pepper to taste. Lettuce, tomato, and onion for garnish.
Instructions: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Season the ground beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Form it into 4 patties. Grill the burger patties to your desired doneness, about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare. During the last minute of grilling, top each patty with a slice of cheddar cheese and let it melt. While the burgers are cooking, mix mayonnaise, lime juice, cumin, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl to make the lime-cumin mayo. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill until they're lightly browned. Spread the lime-cumin mayo on the bottom bun, then add a lettuce leaf. Place a cheese-covered burger patty on top of the lettuce, followed by a roasted green chile. Add tomato and onion slices if desired, and top with the other half of the bun. Serve your Green Chile Cheeseburgers hot and enjoy!
