[After school, Dipper waited outside for Melvyn, with a covered cupcake tray and a gift bag. When he saw him exit the school building, he came over.]
"Happy birthday!"

[Melvyn just stares at him, shocked.]
"I didn't expect you to actually— N-Nevermind. Hold on, is that a cupcake? A... Raspberry cupcake? And a gift? For me?"
[He was in disbelief. After a few seconds, he snapped back and gave him a genuine smile.]
"... Thanks. "
[Melvyn grabbed the cupcake and the gift bag.]
