Meme community suggestion
My guys I need an elite gang of memers who are chronically online and can bring up memes on a dime despite the constant struggle of the popularity algorithm. An algorithm that pushes the interests of click profits over individual interests and memories.
Meme Community! Take this image of my cat Harvey and make whatever you can think of! Make sure you reblog this with whatever ya made!

I wonder if there’s a community out there of the people who actually take the time to create the memes that we all share and enjoy. They must be humble, since those things get shared like crazy and the original “artist” doesn’t get credit for them.
But I wonder if there’s also a lot of competition. Like, I imagine these people waiting for an Obama speech to finish, or some awards show to come on, or some other big media event. And as soon as something funny happens, they’re like, omg, I have to meme that moment where ___ happened. And then they see that there’s another same or similar joke already going viral. And they’re like, “Curse you, fellow memer! I can’t believe you beat me to this joke!” and feel like a failure, even though 1) there’s no credit and 2) there’s no money.
I think that probably isn’t a job I would want, even unofficially. Since I’m pretty sure nobody gets paid to make memes.
