Happy Valentine's Day. Here's some Pomni x Jax fluff

Been getting better at making character art, wanted to try making a short little comic strip. This took me like a solid week (approximately 30 to 40 hours across all of my days off). I now have a whole new appreciation for people who do this shit professionally, because damn--I knew it would be work, but this was way more intensive than I thought. Anyway, I like looking at these two characters, so here's a little thing I whipped up as a sort of Valentine's Day thing.

I like the idea of Pomni being the aggressively flirtatious one between the two of them and the fandom seems to have a consensus that she's probably the more experienced one with relationships, which would translate to her being more confident. Combine that with the fact that I liked cute pet names, and the ship name "Funny Bunny" already kinda sounds like one (kind of surprised more fanfics don't utilize the ship name that way--I think I've seen one fic do it as a joke; kind of a missed opportunity if you ask me), and voila.

I had an idea for a bit at the end with Zooble and Gangle showing up, but I wanted to get this done before Valentine's Day, and ran out of time (that, and I'm just plain tired--I just finished that last Jax picture a few minutes ago; I've been drawing nonstop for eight hours a day since I finished my work week Wednesday morning). Maybe I'll put out an epilogue strip on my next weekend.

Some FF7 fanart

Got bored this morning and realized it's been like a week since I've really drawn anything, so here, have some fanart of Cloud Strife! :D EDIT: Gotta say, I didn't mean to make Cloud's stare quite so...intense. It kind of works though, so I'm not complaining--still came out pretty good.

Headcrabs are cool

Here's some fanart. Decided to play with some digital paint, rather than just straight drawing and pen color tools. Headcrabs are cool, so figured, "yeah sure, let's go with that."

The way I drew Jax's left arm is a little weird, but it's otherwise okay. I like seeing these two characters interact.

Homestuck Beta Kids!

Last month while I was still learning the ropes of my drawing software, the homestuck animated pilot released out of nowhere, surprising pretty much everyone. To mark the occasion, I decided to draw the four main kids. You can definitely tell I was still kind of a noob with the drawing because the proportions and anatomy are all weird. I was starting to get better at color and shading though, which is kind of a running theme for all the stuff I made over the month of October, as I was really trying to nail down values and color. lol.

Sonar Portrait

Last art drop for the evening. Have some Sonar art. I compared it side by side with Sonar's character portrait--my proportion is a little off, ears and head too small, torso's too big. And yet, it feels like my drawing fits Charlie's silhouette when I mentally map it to the IRL MoistCritikal. I dunno, maybe I'm crazy. Either way though, I still kinda like how this one turned out.

Young Solid Snake Punished by the Demon

This one is a reference to a fanfic I wrote a couple years back novelizing the original 1987 Metal Gear, in which before a young Snake meets Venom Snake/Big Boss at the end, I have him having constant nightmares in which he's menaced by a demonic figure who resembles the POWs' and resistance fighters' stories about him. He's wearing an Outer Heaven uniform because at one point in the story I have him using one as a disguise during the infiltration of the second building.

This art piece took me I think roughly about seven-ish hours to complete (I think--I wasn't really paying enough attention to keep an accurate count of the time). I really like how this one turned out.

I think...I think I might be getting good at this digital art thing, y'all. I have been made to understand by the people who've read it that it's...pretty good. ;)

There's a sequel fic in progress I started during 2025, but a combination of other artistic projects, my usual work life (which has nothing to do with writing, drawing, or music, etc.), my becoming more politically engaged (with all the psychological pressure that entails), and a recent personal tragedy have all left me finding difficulty in being consistent artistically (digital art excepted because it turns out this is actually kind of a mentally soothing activity for me), which has sidetracked things a bit. I do intend to return to Sins of the Past at some point soon, but I'm not exactly in a rush as I am still actively working to try to keep myself mentally well (and I still have an album to finish recording, if I can keep myself on task). Shout out to @allexonspace, who made a fanart piece of my fic several months back that I loved, which inspired me to do this.
