Partial Female Head - Met Museum Collection
Inventory Number: 26.7.1402 Late Period–Ptolemaic Period, 400–200 B.C. Location Information: From Egypt; Possibly from Memphite Region, Memphis (Mit Rahina)
Description:
The identity of the female with the elaborate bobbed hairstyle, her head terminating prematurely just above the brow - is puzzling. There is no named figure or deity with whom she can be associated, although the figure type may have precursors among female figurines of the Third Intermediate Period and Late Period.
