Playing my character Memphys as an Archfey Warlock in BG3 is so unintentionally awkward/funny when Wyll is over there having just the worst time, and Memphys is experiencing zero negative consequences for being a Warlock. Like just a constant stream of “that’s rough, buddy,” in Wyll’s direction, but he cannot relate. Memphys’ patron is off somewhere partying down in the Feywild, and maybe dropping a postcard every once in a while. I understand it’s probably a gameplay limitation, but being a Trust Fund Warlock while Wyll is trapped in a pact with a devil threatening to grind him into soul-marzipan is such a contrast.
Wyll’s patron: Actively trying to make his life as miserable as possible.
Memphys’ patron, somewhere in the Feywild:
The pain of losing his family made him terrified of ever loving someone again. And then he met the girl. Novels continuity.

Heard about you in a country love song Summer night beauty took my breath away
sort of a pseudo redraw of my first image of Memphys and Belle before their designs were finalized. pretty bonkers how much my art has improved in just a year!
A magical wish-granting fish. Well, used to be. Memphys was robbed of his wish fulfilling powers by Lord Stayne, so that nobody would use him against him. Now Memphys just acts as the wise one of the revolution. Memphys originates from the fairy tale “ The Fisherman and His Wife”.
