I had the misfortune to, yes.
I must admit that his talents are promising, and his range in dark magic extends beyond what we know in Fódlan. No doubt due to the Church of Seiros and their censorship... Yet it is likewise irrefutable that he can be excessively irritating to even the most patient among us. Although I can endure a great deal, I do have my limits.
May I ask for your thoughts on these various dark mages from other continents, if you've heard of them? : Canas, Tharja, Knoll, Henry, Nyx, Lyon and Julius? How does their skill or mastery of dark magic compare to yours? And would any of these people make decent additions to your army?
You may. I’ve only heard of them in relation to Askr, so I will base my opinions on their presence there.

Canas: My skills in dark magic likely outweigh his own, since he has divided his studies between dark and elemental schools of magic, but he would be a valuable ally to be certain. He does not place a strong emphasis on lineage, and he is an avid researcher with an impressive interest in the world at large. As an added benefit, the members of the Black Eagle Strike Force would likely find him companionable.
Tharja: Her experience in dark magic exceeds mine, I believe, but this is primarily due to her utter lack of regard for anyone aside from herself. Power is all she concerns herself with, and her immediate death would be my only concern in return.
Knoll: Given what he’s accomplished, however remorsefully, I can only say that his dark magic skills are greater than my own. His value as an ally lies outside of what he can do, however. Knoll is perpetually calm in all regards, approaching matters with a steady hand and level mind. He is unconcerned with status and slow to condemn, if it all. These traits are what define him as a useful ally in our cause regardless of whether or not he joined our militant forces.
Henry: He annoys me to no end, from his endless horrid humor to his grating laugh. But I will confess that his capacity for dark magic are somewhat comparable to mine, though he specializes in hexing. On the condition that I rarely have to interact with him, I suppose he would be a worthwhile addition to Her Majesty’s army. With what he has suffered, he may see the value in our efforts.
Nyx: Prodigy as she is, her abilities are above my own. As she is regretful of her abhorrent actions, I would be willing to admit her to our forces under consistent watch and with limited access to our strategies. Her reputation as an understanding individual will be proven true or false in her reaction to these reasonable measures.
Lyon: It is difficult to say where his skill ends and the unique circumstances he’s placed himself in begin. Based on an estimate of our self-standing abilities, I would consider myself more skilled than Lyon in the school of dark magic. While I would be pleased to have him as an ally, he reminds me of the professor in that there is something burdening him that is not entirely known. As such, I’m hesitant to expose our forces to a risk I cannot assess.
Julius: He is a capable dark mage, I will give him that, but it is once again unclear what that can be attributed to in light of his situation. An alliance would be out of the question as well, and we would likely end up defeating him in combat rather than risk encountering him further down on our path.
