I'm trying to find the right divination style for me. I've tried the pendulum, and I love it, but I find that it's too easily influenced by my thoughts for divination. I haven't been able to really make Kinesiology work for me, either. Do you devine for yourself, if so, what method do you use? What are some other methods I can try? Thank you! 🌞
Hi lovely! There are a number of divination methods to you - more than one can count to be honest. Anything could be turned into a tool for divining. Divination is a central piece of my craft, so I use a variety. I’ll do quick runthrough of each:
Cartomancy - This consists of divining through cards. Tarot, oracle, and playing cards fall under this type. I use a mix of the three depending on the reading
Shufflemancy - Divination through music. You place a music library or playlist on shuffle and get a song that will answer your question.
Charm Casting - A collection of symbols are thrown and picked out of a container to divine. I personally use a mix of traditional charms and pop culture ones.
Energy Reading -Tapping into one’s energy and reading the information there. I’m still rather new to this, but it’s been an interesting experience. For me, this information comes through claricognizance and clairsentience. I paint the picture of the words that flow through my mind... so I guess it’s a bit channelled as well. XD
Bibliomancy - Divination through books. Traditionally, religious texts are used, but you can arguably do it with any familiar book of yours. Pick a number, flip to the page, then pick another to find the line that will answer your question. I don’t really use this often though.
Pendulum - This is the one you’re most familiar with. I use it on a fairly often basis.
Astrology: DIvination through the movements of heavenly bodies. I’m still learning the ropes on transits and the like, but I do like helping others with self-awareness through their birth charts.
Beyond those, there are so, so many types I don’t use. Here’s a list with some definitions and some threads by Ariel here and here.
I hope that helps! Please let me know if you have any further questions. ^_^
