I love Mer!Rhett and aquarist!Link, but you know what just entered my head and blew my mind? Mer!Redd and fisherman!Lohn. Mermaids are known to entice their victims with song, and there's this legend that at Myrtle Beach there's a mercreature that will try to get you with country music, because it acclimated to local culture. Lohn one day hears the guitar music coming from the water and goes to look, but instead of being eaten he starts singing with the creature and the rest is history.

This is a lovely twist on the classic Mer!Rhett story, and I’m sorry for the delay in my response but while I have very little to add to this wonderful thought, there’s something I can’t quite figure out: where does Mer!Redd get the guitar?
