Imagine the two just started having an argument but speaking mer/french the entire time so neither has any idea what the other is saying, but they're morons so they continue on anyways

The idea of Virgil loudly clicking and whistling at Roman while he speaks in angry Spanish back made me laugh a lot

He was mostly saying stuff like “hello” and “food this way” and “danger nearby” but I’m not saying he didn’t throw in a few flirty “come get me” sounds by accident

I imagine mer languages to be something resembling dolphin sounds or something that a human could not imitate

Same, though not that really loud sound that’s always used as a sound effect, more like the underwater clicks and whistles. I also imagine somthing a little like orca sounds tbh, though not exactly it’s kind of hard to explain lol. I imagine that’s more used for long distance and underwater communication
