replaceD mercy killings with a new thing calleD reap anD weep in my intro post
its not exactly cancelleD i just want to Do something else with it now anD so ive removeD it for now, ill Bring it Back unDer a new name at some point though
now I’m watching a Cold Squad episode about an Angel of Mercy murderer. I’ve always thought the moral argument of mercy killings is really interesting. Dr.s are supposed to do no harm which by definition means don’t intentionally kill. Yet mercy killings are when someone is at the end of their life and in extreme suffering so it’s more harmful to not act.
I’m pretty proud of the timing I managed on this video.
BREAKING NEWS October 5th, 2016 Mercy Killings written by Michael Greenwood
Braddock Police Department gave a press conference today regarding chilling homicides that have been occurring throughout the town over the past few weeks. Deputy Jocelyn Clearwater announced that it is the belief of the police that the victims were part of the “mercy killings” occurring in town. She cited a surge in social media posts recently, calling for individuals to “prevent the spread of the disease.”
Since the article about a potential terrorist group infecting the town, there has been an increase in mercy killing related posts, as well as talk of “hunting parties” who seek to go in search of the culprits. A member of an alleged hunting party whose name was not released stated he hopes to “cleanse the town” and “help the townsfolk repent.” Many members of these hunting groups claim to be religious, but not all of them are. Some believe they are doing their civil duty in protecting the town. Others want to do something because they feel that Mayor Parrish, the police, and the CDC are not doing their job. They are frustrated that a cure has not been found yet despite weeks of research and testing.
It is not yet known whether these self-proclaimed hunting parties are simply for show, or are actually to blame for the recent homicides. The majority of reported victims were in fact people infected with the Braddock Plague, but who had no other relation to each other. These victims were in various stages of the disease, and some surviving family members hadn’t even known they were sick. Deputy Clearwater also mentioned that there were a few victims who were not infected at all by the disease. The question of whether they were in the wrong place at the wrong time or some other target still remains.
A survivor of one attempted homicide was able to give a statement to police about her attackers, stating that they hid their faces with masks, bandannas, and scarves. While this violent crime spree has many in fear for their lives, a recent poll told us that there are some who believe that these hunting parties are the only answer to curbing the spread of the infection.
Citizens of Braddock are advised to remain indoors at night and not to be alone at any time.
