🌟 : my longest threads / writing pieces are always for / with @koschyei so this answer is a no brainer hehe. average word count in a reply is at least like 800-1k sldsdm. i just can't shut up about these two i suppose !! but ok ok fr. i'm sooo proud of and creatively fulfilled by the story and world and dynamics cali and i have built up tg (and for phillip too !!) and the fact that it so endlessly inspires me across aus and each and every tiny scenario speaks for itself. it's so so motivating to meee; i always find a natural inclination to wanna push my writing and stylistic choices to the best form it can be with cali, cuz our styles and ideas play so well off each other, and with all the clarity of thought i have on expressing the themes and characterizations and literary devices in mature, thoughtful, artful ways, it feels to me the closest thing to what building a real fairytale or book or even literature must feel like. i always find something new to say, do... and i find that my writing is always at its most mature when i write with her !! it's just the once-in-a-lifetime type of muse, lighting-in-a-bottle kind of stuff, and i'm always so hyperaware of just how precious that kinda thing is for tumblr rp these days !! and this goes without saying, but i'll still say it's a testament to cali's own masterful storytelling abilities that tons of folks are so drawn to. she's a literal powerhouse, and i don't say that lightly, in her own right, but i'm so so grateful we curated our little world tg regardless hehehe.

🎁 : @archaeval ree is so kind and affirming to quite literally everyone, and makes a real effort to spread genuine positivity, attention and care throughout the rpc. they send silly impromptu asks, are so descriptive and purposeful when it comes to the kind words they tell others, makes little doodles for folks, reads other ppl's threads (a thing i feel like got kinda lost these days), gets invested in ppl's characters, and just wants to see people happy. like. you really don't find someone this selfless and kind and talented to boot often. i don't think i actually ever met anyone here this dedicated to supporting others so effortlessly and consistently and freely. ree is a gift to the community in every sense of the word because they work so hard to build a sense of community in a time where it can be harder to come by compared to the spirit of 2012-15ish rp.

🌸 : i've loved and admired maxima and priestess for years so i gotta mention you skells !!! your ability to build characters with so much aura (tm) in particular needs to be studied. and i knowww i'm cheating by mentioning 1 more person but i neeeeed to say that lani @sunmad's got one of the best ocs in the gameeee. i lap up every bit of content, from the sheer skill in writing, to the depth of thought found in every headcanon for miri, to the moodboard posts, to how every verse for miri too builds upon her characterization. miri gives me this fix of haunted americana pestilence something wicked this way comes vibes that is so unique and inspiring and i can't get enough of it. i'm just such a fan.

He tries to smile for her.

She is glad, after all, and he is glad to be with her.

(Is he not?).

The night sky is vast and bright above them, teeming with distant stars and brilliant clouds of dust. What darkness does settle his new eyes cut through. It was made for this world, the whole of it, as certain in sunlight as moonlight.

Smooth pebbles lie hard beneath the bare soles of his feet as he stumbles clumsy towards the rush of the sea. She walks behind him, one hand extended lest he need it. When he does, when he grasps it, her touch prickles as it didn't before. Where once he felt only her touch, her joy, now his intermingles. Overwhelming, even at the best of times.

In an intermittent pocket of sand, she stops, and he beside her. A thousand pricks beneath his flesh, biting with such agony that his tongue crashes against the roof of his mouth.

"Is it not beautiful?" she asks in a voice that crests with the waves.

He has seen it before, he thinks, the thought almost petulant in his head. He has felt it, he has been it. He has felt the tug of the moons sweeping him to the shore, crashing upon the sand as Joy dances over him, delighting in discovery.

But now it is a stranger.

He can know it only through his hands, his skin; the world is what he makes of it, and all he can do is change it. All he can do is destroy.

Wisdom does not answer, for he does not know. He walks towards the waves in silence, the pebbles giving way to smaller and smaller pieces until the ground is shifting sand beneath his feet. His footprints sink, and he sees in his path pockets of bubbles where creatures shrink from the sharp-beaked birds that swarm further down the beach.

Settling in the low tide, he feels the ocean retreat around him. Sand slides beneath the sides of his feet, and he stands tall against its pull. Something akin to joy flutters in his chest, and he looks down to see the shape of his heels where the sea has pulled the water back.

It is the breath of the world, the same that fills his lungs. The same that fills hers.

And then the tide breaks over him.

Suddenly he knows why the shorebirds skirt the tide on stilted legs, why the cliffside surrenders. He stands on the bones of living creatures, ground into meal by her loving caress.

It is devouring, destroying. It changes him, his skin bursting with pinpricks rough beneath his fingers, as though a thousand pine needles push out from within.

Bitter salt coats his tongue when he gasps, cringing in the flow of the sea. She comes to him, unflinching, the trail of her dress dragging in the current. She lays her hand on him, as gentle as foam that peaks the waves. Where it settles, he changes again, skin smoothing beneath the palm of her hand.

He looks at her with eyes that sting with the same salt as the sea.

"It is beautiful," he tells her, weeping. His tears carve trails down his cheeks that she does not dry with her sleeve, but leaves for the moonlight to drink. "But when does it end?"

She is the mercy of the world, benevolence made flesh, and if anyone knows it is her. Mythal smiles in the face of his dismay, without malice.

"Never, my love, if you do not let it."

He does not know if he approves or disapproves

Vince paces, as he's prone to doing, around the beaten-up interior of the hideout Viv, Val and himself had managed to secure along the edge of Dogtown. It was meant to offer a moment of reprieve, an opportunity to regroup, think, strategize. The more time passes, though, the more convinced Vince is that he hears something accusatory on Viv's voice.

It didn't take more than an exchange of pointed glares between the linked pair for Val to excuse herself. She had some BDS to check out somewhere — code for 'she had no interest in getting caught in the crosshairs'.

Fair enough.

Once the door shuts behind the escapist in question, Vince stops in his tracks and crosses his arms over his chest. His eyes land squarely on Viv's in the moment that follows, underscoring his discomfort with the persisting silence. "What exactly is the problem? Enlighten me, 'cause I can't see it from where I'm standing — I just wanna help her help us."

i always have to shout out to @keepslore when i can for lou's character work on dhavi - in a landscape where 'sometimes the curtains are just blue' exists, lou takes that and says: actually, everything has a meaning and we should celebrate that. even the tiniest little details have room and purpose that sits right with my lit major spirit

she   doesn't   need   to   explain;   valeria   knows   by   now,   unfortunately,   what   it   is   to   be   erased   by   a   title,   &   simultaneously   bowed   under   all   the   expectations   that   come   with   it.   some   days,   she   worries   her   name   might   sound   as   foreign   to   her   as   ferelden,   or   that   she'll   stop   responding   to   it   completely.   she   understands,   but   she   startles.   remembering   is   usually   reserved   for   the   dead.

in   some   ways,   the   girl   she   was   is   gone,   but   she's   still   asharen   &   she's   still   here. 

the   idea   that   someday   she   won't   be   is   almost   enough   to   bring   tears   to   her   eyes   here   &   now,   if   she   dwells   on   it.   maybe   that's   because   asharen   is   also   one   of   the   few   that   sees   her,   past   the   years   of   falling &   failing,   or   perhaps   because   she   doesn't   want   to   be   abandoned   all   over   again,   alone   with   no   idea   what   to   do.   either   way,   she   can't   envision   a   world   without   asharen   in   it,   &,   as   impractical   as   it   is,   right   now   refuses   to   entertain   the   thought.

even   that   isn't   sufficient.   there's   so   much   that   words   can't   begin   to   repay,   &   those   she   chokes   on,   anyway. 

no   matter   what,   she'll   always   be   thankful   asharen   stayed   to   help   with   varric   down,   even   when   the   only   thing   she   could   manage   was   to   make   everything   worse.   that's   more   than   the   mourn   watch   did,   &   they   were   supposed   to   be   her   family.   tears   once   again   threaten   to   fall,   &   this   time   she   looks   away   to   hide   them,   scuffing   the   toe   of   her   boot   against   the   floor.   maybe   someday   before   this   is   all   over,   she'll   bring   herself   to   spill   her   guts.

WAAAH thank you!! 🥹 i try to write until i hear their voices in my head and i'm sometimes REALLY hard on myself about it, so knowing that other people can hear it makes me feel so good about my writing. sometimes i need the reminder that i am truly my own worst critic 😭

as for us not writing together 🔪 i am so painfully slow about reaching out to new writing partners but we are going to plot and this is a threat

Normally, Inara would have perked at the Queen's request. She was happy to do anything that Anora needed, anything she asked. They were becoming friends, after all this time. But something in her eyes...

Anora continued speaking, and Inara felt her heart still. I think you could benefit from working things out.

Could they, now?

She felt heat. Not anger, but not... warmth. Pouring down the back of her throat, making her stomach sick. She wasn't stupid. She knew that Nathaniel's visits to Denerim on her behalf were getting longer. Amaranthine was not quite half a day's ride from the capital; he had no need to spend the night there. And yet sometimes, he'd spend two or three.

He was not a dishonest man. Not interested in harming her, and not afraid she'd spill his secrets. When she asked, he did not deny his feelings.

Inara felt very suddenly how tightly her fists were clenched at her side. As she released them, she felt a strange pain ring up her cheeks and into her forehead. She unclenched her jaw, slowly.

"Look, I know that you and Nathaniel—" despite her racing heart, she had to pause. Breathe. Saying the wrong thing could get her worse than frowned at, in this moment. "—enjoy spending time together at court."

"But I have nothing to say to Alistair," she says, and his name catches in her throat, almost makes her cough. "Or yell, for that matter. Truly."
