The Dragon Age series is a dark fantasy rpg and deals with heavy, potentially triggering material. Please explore at your own discretion!
𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐍 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐋𝐈𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄/𝐃𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄. The Warden is a blank slate character, and as such Nanna is going to be as unique as the next Warden PC. That said, over the years I’ve fleshed out a lot of the lore surrounding both Nanna’s personal story and the world around her. In comparison, the writing of the series has hard-deviated from its own lore in recent installments, so I take several liberties in my own writing.
𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐍 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐋𝐈𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄/𝐃𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐈𝐈. Nanna is elfblooded, but this blog does not acknowledge the whole 'mixed children get absolutely no physical traits from their elf side' thing. I don't enjoy it as worldbuilding imo, smacks a bit of Unintended Implications, and there's just never been a sufficient explanation as to why that's the case. It's not something that will come up much, but I’m specifying because I’ve had people try to argue this point with me about my own character and I just do not care to. Everybody can do what they want, but I'm hard canon divergent on this point.
ACTIVITY. I'm middlingly active. I'm typically present Monday-Friday, but I have a mentally draining and time consuming job that goes bonkers on the weekends, so Saturdays and Sundays I won't be very present if at all. At most I'll have something queue'd for that day, maybe a shitpost or two, but not much else.
𝐏𝐋𝐎𝐓𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆. After this long in the rpc, I've come to realize that plotting with people I haven't written with yet isn't one of my strengths. I'm a sh person, and it's hard for me to get a grip on character dynamics I haven't seen yet. So a few shared memes or even just sporadic interactions are the best way to get something going, and gives me a much better idea on what our muses jive with !
IMPORTANT: My tumblr ims are all fucked up. If you message me for plotting and I never get back to you, it's because ims just aren't telling me you responded, never because I'm not interested anymore!
𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐆. This blog is multiship, but I prefer to discuss them thoroughly with potential partners. Ships come slow for me, but it’s something I really enjoy when we hash it out. Should the potential pop up, I will only ship with muns 25+! If you don’t have your age posted somewhere on your blog, I won’t follow you to begin with.
𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐈𝐈 There's a non-0% chance I'm going to talk about the in-game romances, how they affect Nanna and which ones she participates in within my personal canon, but this does not affect any rp interactions. This is for personal exploration and drabbles for Nanna's worldstate only unless we've discussed otherwise.
𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑. A note on my portrayal is that Nanna is a very physically intimate person, with gestures like face holding, leaning on someone's shoulder, etc. something she uses to show affection in a general, platonic way. None of these will be used directly to push a ship on anyone! Either an ic or ooc nudge is enough to signal if you or your muse is uncomfortable with that.
𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐒. I’m more than happy to do multi-warden interactions! I am THE warden lover, there’s space enough for all origins. However, the presence of another warden will drastically affect how my muse grows in the story, and I have had Nanna's agency bulldozed and disrespected by other Warden rpers in the past, so I would appreciate communication between us for these types of threads.
𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒. The Dragon Age series is a dark fantasy series, meaning it encroaches on a lot of sensitive and uncomfortable areas and Origins is the least shy about broaching these topics. While I don’t plan on diving into all of them outside of world building/related hcs very often, everything will be tagged with a trigger warning ( ex: ‘subject’ tw ). Any sexual or otherwise related writing will be tagged as “ usfw cw “ since tumblr’s bans have heavily affected the old tag.
𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒. As mentioned, this series deals with a lot of heavy material. Not everything will be written out, but may be mentioned in meta posts or general discussion over lore. Potential triggers will be as follows: murder, death, war, assault, systemic oppression/imperialism, slavery, fantasy racism & sexism, & body horror elements.
𝐂𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐒𝐌. I adore this series to bits. It’s among my favorite franchises period, but I enjoy talking about problems I see sometimes, be that points of lore or characters directly. It’s not a personal attack on anyone’s opinions, but this is my space and I’m gonna periodically sprinkle salt about it alongside a lot of analysis cause I think it’s fun.
𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑. I will not, under any circumstances, write with or follow anyone using AI art. This is an immediate hard block from me.
I have a lot of original head canons and world building specific to my portrayal. Do not take anything off my blog without permission.
Other than that, I work a full time job that's both physically and mentally exhausting; I write slow as a result, so patience from my partners is appreciated!
Something that's on my to-do because it's something I thought a lot about during my keyboard-jail era is creepy myths and local legends surrounding amaranthine

𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒔𝒂𝒚𝒔: ❝ i never knew so many books even existed. ❞
𝓘t had been the most exquisite of finds insofar as Nanna had been concerned—shelves with only partial walls lined the uneven pathway marked before them, wide as the Tower's grand hall and as open as the sky all at once. The only barrier between them and the infinite of the Fade. And ever inquisitive, ever the explorer, Nanna fluttered herself into its midst.
Over her shoulder, the Spellwisp bounced along a mere breath behind,
"Not books, per say-" Nanna deduced, glowing with delight as she reached for one of the 'books', a blue and leatherbound thing with no more width than a few pamphlets, and instead of it met itself to her hand as though it had felt her intent. "At least, I don't believe so. It is....information. Or memories. Or some sort of gathering of feelings across different events, all coalesced into something we can perceive!"
She rushed back to where he stood, prize in hand.
"Ash, look!" She held the tome out for him to see, and despite there being a string of nondescript words on the page, what met her brother was a sensation. "See? You can feel someone learning their first spell!"
Attracted by the sensation, the Spellwisp hovered close to the pages and flashed in response. Anxiety and Excitement rolled in its intangible glow, almost too much for the simple wisp to handle before it flitted away.
"I wonder if this is but a perceivable piece of how Spirits view the world?" /@littlehoundthings
it would figure that the week I said I was set and prepped to come back is the week we get absolutely slammed at work jeorhideo BUT when I get home we’re back in it (•ᴗ•́ )و kisses your foreheads, have a lovely day ~ ✨
'i've heard the stories, but i don't think those stories are true.' / ersha
ℒaughing, she felt, would almost be inappropriate. It really was serious after all, everything going on, and since arriving Nanna could feel the cloud of frustration hanging heayvy over Rook's head as they stalked too and fro across the planes of this otherworldly haven everyone had called the Lighthouse. Mirth, in the face of that, almost felt rude.
But one slipped out all the same. It ached somewhat—a throb in the hollow of her chest at the sudden force of the motion, brightly bursting in places where Nanna still felt herself recovering from her time in the Cauldron, but after what had felt like so long waiting in the dark of another dour tower, it was a welcome one.
"I suppose it would depend on the story you've heard," she responded, the easy lilt to her tone rolling like the waves on the Amaranthine in beat with her delight. A thin hand rested on her chest all the while, as though adding pressure to a wound. "Some truths are stranger than the tales, to be sure. Though, with what lies on the other side of the mirrors, I find myself curious as to what you might think to be so outlandish."
how did Nanna feel when other kids/mages in the Circle talked about their families?
When she was little, it was with frustration and envy, almost to the point of tears. Communicating was hard enough at first, and considering the circumstances that brought her to the Tower in the first place, she had absolutely been scolded for asking after her own. So if other kids were going to talk about their families on the outside—or worse, in the case of a noble child, be visited by their parents—she'd be the smallest ball of a bad mood.
As she got older, she trained herself to look like she was listening, but simply not react much at all. She wouldn't discourage another apprentice or Mage if they started on their own unless they were in hearing range of someone who'd get them in trouble, but offered neither comfort nor direct interest in the subject. They were mages, so what's outside shouldn't matter anymore, she would tell herself, whether the circumstance was good or bad, and that would be her overall stance if someone asked her. Her family was the Circle, and that was all she needed to know.
All of that was a ruse, of course—aside from that being the 'correct' answer to give, all that was is her masking the fact that talking about other peoples' families made her sad because with every year that passed, she remembered less and less of her own till there wasn't anything left at all. A process that didn't take long, considering she was only five or so when she was brought to Ferelden, and not fluent in the Common Tongue.
The result of that being, now that she's older, when the subject comes up it's not something she considers at all. She can be a listening ear, a problem solver, and an empathetic shoulder, but she doesn't think of her own connections much at all.
OK OFFICIALLY whats up hot people on my screen, we are back in business~
I hope everybody's doing well, I'm FINALLY back in the game with something to write with. Gonna do a little bit of updating with some rules and such (going by Vares now~) and we're gonna be getting back into the swing of things ദ്ദി(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧
I don’t think it’s talked about much because in the current climate, not many people really think Loghain leaving Cailan behind in Ostagar is his biggest crime to confront him on at the Landsmeet, but I think everyone should do it at least once to hear the rare moment of genuine grief he lets slip when he talks about it
