Is this a safe space for me to say that I wish fanfic would stop getting turned into books. I have zero issues in general with fanfic authors going on to become trad published authors. Actually! I think many have the skill and deserve to share their writing with the world.

That said, I’m worried for the future of fanfic and fandom. A major news outlet recently publishing an article with links to ao3 was more than enough. fanfic used to to be a specific corner of the internet and the more mainstream it goes, the more issues that crop up with etiquette, attitudes, and fandom being a positive space.

Maybe i sound like an old hag complaining about the old days, but I simply worry.

Sometimes I’m struck by the realization that I am the back up friend. Traditionally this doesn’t bother me, but I have been in a bit of a weird place lately.

mere speculations, but i feel like a failed pregnancy might be what it takes for touka to regain the anger she once had at the world. touka once challenged the injustice towards ghouls but as people have pointed out before, this is seemingly absent in the current touka. her parents death initially made her challenge the world and her child's death might return her to this state. of course she's a lot more mature now, so i doubt she'd go as wild as she was in the past but this might make her more proactive in the fight, for reasons of her own rather than her being supportive of kaneki and the rest. and with the whole issue with yoriko, i can see touka being more involved in the front lines rather than sitting back and watching the rest because of pregnancy. just a personal thought. :o

I get emails from AO3 with kudos notifications just often enough to remind me that "oh yeah, I wrote some stuff." Then I get excited that people are still on that fandom.

I am super excited... my Jyn cosplay is almost finished! Mostly I just need to weather things now. Oh, and work on my wig styling skills. I did not make it all myself, but I am very proud of what I did make and absolutely love the parts I commissioned.

I am done playing dog sitter while working 12 hour night shifts. Back at home with just my dog and I am soooooo happy. Also.... tired. so so so tired.
