This is a photo from the #baptiststudentunion at #meredithcollege that my late mother was a part of in 1953. This group hosted different speakers that opened the minds of these women including my mother. They also had interracial dialogues with the local negro college #shawuniversity This is one of many experiences that shaped my mother and helped her understand her #whiteprivilege and put her on the unexpected path to fighting for #racialjustice for the rest of her life... She always worked in the background but she still made a difference. She didn't know what she didn't know as the title of her book says, but she found out and helped many others learn too.
