It was late at night, a time when most people would be fast asleep, but not Floris Baratheon. Right now was the time she felt most awake, under the stars and in the dark.
Currently, she sat on a blanket outside, looking upwards towards the stars, all by herself. Usually she had Garmund to accompany her on their stargazing adventures, but today she needed some time to herself. She always enjoyed her dear Garmund’s company, but she also enjoyed time to herself and would tell him all about her observations later.
Her love for stargazing was more a recent hobby, brought on by Garmund himself, but it quickly escalated to being one of her favorite things to do. She hadn’t shared this love with anyone else but Garmund… just yet.
Floris looked up, trying to find a constellation she had read about in a book, until she heard footsteps approaching her. She quickly looked back.
“Garmund?” She assumed it was him, as no one else was ever eager to join her stargazing… as well as no one was usually awake at this hour. But it was not Garmund, she quickly realized.
“Meredyth… what are you doing out here?” Floris stood up, approaching her sister. She observed Meredyth, confused what was going on.
Meredyth. The youngest of the five storms. Floris had never been close with her sister, but she had always tried to be kind to her. It was rare for Floris to be so kind to a family member she wasn’t particularly close with, but with Meredyth it was different.
Perhaps it was a sort of older sister protectiveness Floris felt for her younger sister, she did not know, but all she knew was that she wished none of her family drama onto Meredyth and she only wanted kind things for her.
“You are up quite late, Meredyth. Could you not find sleep?” Floris said, voice quiet and her eyes looked back at her blanket. She wondered if she should invite her little sister to watch the stars with her… but she waited for a response.
