2019 May SuperiorWaves 5100px x 6600px Clip Studio Paint, Adobe InDesign A magazine cover I designed for my Typography class’s class magazine based on the vaporwave style and the city of Duluth, MN where our school is based. The magazine will feature articles about everyone in the class also showcasing artwork we’ve made. The type on this cover is a play on C++ coding to fetch a file, in this case the InDesign files we use in class, setting integers for information about the class, and a screen readout welcoming the user to the magazine program. ~ mer [ moonblaze13 / kittimer ] facebook deviantart

2019 March Shut Up, My Child 11in x 17in Clip Studio Paint A little something for myself. I recently started watching/caught up in The Dragon Prince. Then this thing happened. First illustration/digital painting Ive done in YEARS. I used to be really unhappy when I tried digitally painting, things never turned out right. AND THEN 3 YEARS OF GD COURSES LATER this thing happens, and I couldn't be more pleased with myself. Best digital painting ive done ever. 2019 February Fake Product Poster 8.5in x 11in Clip Studio Paint For Graphic Design II. We had to prove that we could fake-market a fake product inspired by nature via promotional posters. My product was shelving inspired by shelf fungus (and I call myself creative) with its name and theme being a play on "feng shui". This one was quite simple and we didn't spend too much time on it in class. I designed it to simulate the look of actually taking place on a home wall, with of course, the feng-shui-esque slogan to push for a target audience (you know who you are). ~ mer [ moonblaze13 / kittimer ] facebook deviantart

2018 Spring Digital Newsletter 1600px wide (for iPad) Adobe InDesign, Adobe Xd, Clip Studio Paint For Design Technology I. For practice, we had to come up with a subject for a fake newsletter and design how it would look. I chose vaporwave for my newsletter as this was when I was beginning to really delve into the scene. We had to incorporate links between pages and externally to prove we could make it function if it were a real digital newsletter. It was fun challenge to create and a design a newsletter around vaporwave; to pay homage to the aesthetic itself and still maintain good design was interesting and difficult, but an overall fun and awesome experience. 2018 Fall Genre Samples 3000px x 3000px Adobe Illustrator, Clip Studio Paint For Graphic Design II class. The assignment was to choose a subject of some sort and design 4 images for that subject in different artistic styles. 2018 Fall HTML Painting Brackets For Emerging Media Design Nothing really special here, the assignment was to make pictures using HTML. I already learned HTML in highschool, so I pushed it a bit and did a pixel by pixel recreation of my fursona. 2018 January Vaporwave SwissModernism 11in x 17in Clip Studio Paint For my Graphic Design I class. The assignment was to emmulate 4 different historical art movements to a buzzword or topic. I chose Vaporwave as my topic and the art movement I emmulated here was Swiss Modern. This piece was a challenge, frist to organize, then to color-coordinate. I knew I was going to use Arial font and rainbow colors right off the bat for the vaporwave elements. Trying to get these elements to work together was hard, experimenting with grid and placement, to finally come to the layout I have now. The background was originally an off-white/grey, but getting the right shade to work with all the colors wasn't working. I referenced back to other Swiss Modern pieces and found that a dark background was fit, so I went with that and the contrast worked wonderfully. After getting in the text and colors right, I saw that this poster was lacking something, which is when I decided to add the grid and rainbow lines to really bring the whole piece together. don't mind the crop & low-res quality.
