Tadashi stared at himself in the mirror. It was hideous, the huge scar on his face. Made him look less attractive. Made him feel less attractive. He sighed, looking away from the mirror. He hated the way he looked now. He got so many looks from people. He wished he'd just died in that fire. He know how much that would have hurt Hiro, but, it hurt Hiro even more to see his brother acting like this. Merida watched Tadashi exit the bathroom, putting his shirt on. She walked up to him and placed a kiss on his cheek. "Hello, handsome. You look nice today." Tadashi gave a weak sort of smile, looking at Merida's sky blue eyes with his own deep brown ones. "Thanks, but I'm really not. I mean, look at me." "Exactly," Merida smiled. "Look at you! You're amazing. Look, I know you hate the way you look now, but, if it makes you feel any better, you'll always be handsome to me." "I wish that made me feel better." Tadashi admitted. "But it doesn't. I just don't feel attractive anymore. It's nothing you did wrong, I swear, it's just me. I sort of wish I'd died in that fire than having to live like this." "Don't say that!" Merida snapped. "You know damn well how much that would have hurt Hiro and I. I'm glad you survived. Even if you couldn't save your professor, you made it out alive, and that's what matters to me, your family and your friends. We wouldn't know what to do without you." "You really think it's for the better that I survived?" Tadashi smiled, running a hand through Merida's wild red hair. "Because I feel like this world would be better off without me." "That's just the depression talking." Merida told him. She wrapped her arms around him and pulled him closer. She placed her head on Tadashi's chest and closed her eyes. She really was glad he'd survived. She didn't know how she could live without him. Tadashi reminded her of her father in some ways, and she'd already lost him. "I've got a secret to tell you, Merida." Tadashi said. Merida looked up at him. He picked her up, carrying her like a groom would carry a bride. He sat down on the bed, still holding her. "What's this secret?" Merida asked, giggling. "Lean in closer." Tadashi replied. And, when Merida did lean in closer, he kissed her gently. "I like that secret. But, I have a better one." Merida bit her lip. She pulled Tadashi back towards her and kissed him again. She pulled away. "Don't forget. You'll always be handsome to me."
