These lovely Purple Flower Meringue Cookies are a light and tasty treat. The meringue is light and airy, and it's a beautiful shade of purple. Edible flower petals decorate it, making it perfect for special events.
Ingredients: 4 large egg whites. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Purple gel food coloring. Edible flower petals violets, pansies, etc..
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 200F 95C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a clean, dry mixing bowl, beat the egg whites until they form soft peaks. Gradually add the granulated sugar and cream of tartar while continuing to beat the egg whites. Beat until stiff, glossy peaks form. Add the vanilla extract and a few drops of purple gel food coloring to achieve your desired shade of purple. Gently fold the coloring into the meringue mixture. Spoon the purple meringue into a piping bag fitted with a star-shaped tip. Pipe small meringue cookies onto the prepared baking sheet. Top each cookie with edible flower petals. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the meringue cookies are dry and crisp to the touch. Turn off the oven and leave the cookies inside to cool completely. Once cooled, carefully remove the meringue cookies from the parchment paper and enjoy!
