APPARENTLY MERLIN 505 IS SUPER SAD? Only seen the gif of MErlin saying there's no place for magic in Camelot AND I FEEL ACTUAL TEARS Y U HURT ME SO BAD I've only watched till 104 and the rest I know from Tumblr. And read AUs WTH WHY AM I SO INVESTED ALREADY ETA: OMG then if Arthur already knew about Merlin having magic then WHAT MUST HE BE THINKING

Dealing With "The Disir"

ok, in order to stop myself from being crushed under the weight of my feels, i will do what i have always done when it comes to this fandom and the general soul-crushing nature of it.

look at the alternative.

scenario: merlin discourages arthur from accepting magic in order to save arthur from mordred's eventual betrayal.

alternative: telling arthur the truth about his magic and hoping arthur is still willing to listen to his explanation of why saving mordred would be a Very Bad Thing.

what this could mean:

most likely; arthur NOT being willing to listen and just trying to kill merlin out of shock and anger.

less likely but still possible; arthur listening to merlin and accepting magic, but not being willing to believe that mordred will kill him, thus leading to-

arthur accepting magic for the sake of MORDRED and not HIS MOST LOYAL FRIEND EVER, thus cheapening everything merlin has done so far.

and finally, almost impossible; arthur listening to everything merlin has to say, apologizing for everything he's been through, promising to listen to him from now on and getting the fuck rid of mordred . . . thus ending the season and probably the show eight episodes early.

none of these are things that i want. therefore this episode ended in the best possible way.

i still blame the writers for creating this fucktastic situation in the first place, but that's beside the point. when the magic reveal comes it will be beautiful and perfect and for all the right reasons. merlin will get all the credit and recognition he deserves and all who have mad him sad will suffer arthur's wrath.

I. FUCKING. KNEW. IT. Merlin makes a decision to say something that hurts him the most, and bang. Mordred was so cute and adorable and I want to believe so much, but.. The word faith rips my heart open.

This same picture has been going so long. In the smallest things, he is right and ends up savin Arthur's arse, but when it come to bigger things like this, it's always wrong. At first, too gentle-minded and suddenly too cold.

COULD SOMEONE GIVE MERLIN SOMETHING GOOD IN HIS LIFE? Fuck that 'destiny is never easy'. Haven't he got enough already? The look in his eyes is too much. I can't--
