YES. OFC! I'm not sure about which topic to choose so I'll just go with the flow and yap about it. thanks for the ask!

camelot dr.

okay. so I haven't been focusing on it so much these past weeks, but it's like one of the coziest and most whimsical DRs I have. The Merlin show was a very specific part of my childhood because I would watch it when I got sick and skipped school, lmao. Since I was little, I have always loved the Arthurian legend and medieval fantasy, so I tried to visualize a world with the medieval aesthetics that I have always liked but with some safety measures and comforts. and of course, no misogyny, racism, or homophobia. I made a post about some random things I scripted if you want to read it (here). The intro post is here. This last one is basically my script, so you will only find a bit of information on how the world is, myself, and my relationship dynamics with everybody.

Anyway, first thing that comes to mind is how i meet Lance because it happens 2 weeks after i arrive at camelot. he was out on a mission and he arrives just when we were in a banquet. i sometimes imagine aragorn's entrance in the two towers, very dramatic of him. but i was just talking with morgana about anything really when we saw him. i was curious and asked her about him. when i realized he was the famous Lancelot i felt a bit taken aback because i had imagined him older, and definetly not that handsome lol. Arthur then called me from the other side of the room where he was with him, to come with them and get properly introduced. i just know i tried my best to act fine but i was a bit nervous. just like it happens on the tv show when he meets gwen, i want to greet him with a shake of hands but the thing is idk if out of nervous or just because he's very polite, he just grabs my hand and kisses it. and i nearly combust. Arthur will probably be enjoying himself with that cocky look he puts when he wants you to know he's not gonna let you live that down. but anyways, the rest of the party continues with sneaky and stolen glances from each other, nothing more. the love will develop progressively i think. specially when we'll end up getting paired in some little trips or adventures. you know the witch and the knight type of story. tho he's slightly different from the tv show, physically and also in personality (because the show didn't developed him at all), so yea he's quite honourable, responsible and stuff but he's just a silly little guy aswell, very intelligent and funny.

asides from that, i'm very very excited to wander and hang out with merlin. he's the warlock in court and he is, supposedly, (huge impact in that) training me to be another magician, but the thing is he's not so much more advanced than me in that regard, so we are both like little ducklings going to gaius and nimue when we have a problem or we fucked things up. and somehow the times we fuck up gawain tends to be involved 🧐🧐 but we'll always have lance to help us clean the mess ofc.

i'm also very excited about portraying the whimsy nymph kind of person at court in the sense of wandering through the forest, brew potions and befriend every possible creature, no matter how large or dangerous. people just go like:"....you are scared of the dark but not about befriending a freaking winged lion?". i think it's a very cool ability. its not like being able to talk with animals per se , more like i read them very well and the aura i emanate just calms them and make them feel safe, so they don't see me as a prey in some cases nor as a menace/predator in others, if that makes sense.

Alsoooo, since Morgana isn't going evil, we'll end up being those cottagecore witchy best friends, her, Gwen, and me. She and Gwen are the bestest. And yeah, magic isn't forbidden here; it's fully integrated into society, so I bet there would be a lot of druids and pagan festivities as well. Overall, the world is just a little bit kinder. Nature feels more magical, and you can really sense magic because it's basically everywhere: people have light in their houses, running hot water, and even sort of fridges and freezers, all powered by magic. You know, as if Shrek + Ella Enchanted + the medieval 2000s core of A Knight's Tale were all merged into one world.

aaand Queen Ygraine loves me. I'm like her protégée. that's basically why I'm at court in the first place (though, of course, also because of the magic and the fact that I need to learn how to control it). She never really hesitated to let me stay, and since I've never quite beaten the shy, weird girl allegations, i have favoritism on my side because she kind of sees a bit of herself in me . I'm practically adopted by the Queen at this point so her and Nimueh act like mother figures while I'm living away from my parents.

That being said, I'm thinking of having my brother move to Camelot too. I actually asked him (in this CR), and he said he'd like to join the Knights' Guard, so maybe that way I'd feel a little more at home. Of course, Arthur and Morgana are like family to me as well, but you know, it's never awful to have people you care about sharing experiences with you.

i haven't really thought about much more scenarios tbh, but i just know Arthur is going to annoy the hell out of me and i will no hesitate to call him out. and then he will do something nice or kind and thoughtful in his own way and i will feel bad and think "perhaps im too snappy at him". but then morgana will tell me he desserved it anyway, and we will move on. if my real brother doesn't fight with me or annoy me, Arthur will surely do.

they say the line of mordred is cursed. and they're probably right. i'm just the most recent in the line of accursed.

when the shadowborn demons' threat rose, there was arthur and his round table to rise in return to defeat them. but, they wouldn't always be there. so, the wizard merlin cast a spell on the thirteen knights, that their spirits would get passed down through their bloodlines forever. until arthur's awakened descendant fell in battle, then the shadowbon would again rise. this time, with no one to oppose them.

the spell was cast and the lines locked. arthur's descendants would always be king over the round table. and this left arthur's bastard son, the sir mordred, forever disgraced. his own line a mere tenth ranked despite his royal blood. his descendants forever in the shadow of the more pure sons of arthur and guinevere. not that the good king would ever give any attention to the product of his mistake, the son of both the king and his sister the sorceress.

so, mordred made a plan. he conspired with the shadowborn king, arawn, to defeat arthur. it wouldn't kill him now, of course, but it would at least put him out of the game. a spirit, trapped in his line until its greatest day of need.

in the final altercation between blood, arthur's sword struck mordred. and the knight pushed his body through the blade in order to penetrate the king's heart. they both fell that day. the blood split would taint both of their descendants forever.

the 𝕯𝓔𝐒𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐒 of 𝕸𝓞𝐑𝐃𝐑𝐄𝐃 . . .

the curse prevails, even when they intentionally try to break it. but the blood of family on family violence can never be washed out of the line.

the rivalry continues, each scion of arthur and scion of mordred bitter enemies. it never escalates to all out violence, for fear of the order's punishment, but the looming threat of it hangs heavily over the two lines. both branches of the family tree are twisted together, suffocating one another until they both wither away, neither giving in to any kind of truce and thus accept defeat.

somewhere in the line, one of the scions of mordred made a deal with a sorceress from the line of morgaine—the third bloodline in this twisted family tree. the mother of mordred, the sister of arthur. somewhere in the 18th century, the two bloodlines made a pact that granted mordred's line one of their two birthrights—the magic of morgaine, her ability to manipulate the aether with effortless ease.

there's also rumors of one of the old scions of mordred being a cambion—half shadowborn, and his tainted blood bleeds down into the rest of the line. a further corruption to the patricide and dealing with witches.

is any of it true? well, sometimes rumors are just rumors. but sometimes? they're just the tip of the iceburg.

the new 𝕾𝓒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝕬𝓦𝐀𝐊𝐄𝐍𝐒 . . .

most scions in mordred's line awaken, being only the tenth ranked. scions awaken in order of their rank, based on how prevalent the shadowborn threat is. because of this, mordred has an active hand in the dealings of his descendants.

its hard, having a medieval knight living in your head. especially when trans and queer, even more so when you're part of the thing tainting your family's blood. i didn't choose how I was born, but I was born nonetheless. the product of my father's lack of self-control when approached by a shadowborn demon. I'm unlike merlin's line, who've only received a fraction of his demon heritage. I'm a full balanced cambion, offspring of the union of a human and a shadowborn.

if only it where that simple.

my mother isn't just a demon, she's a night shade. a high-ranking former member of the shadow king's court. demon nobility, basically.

how do you think the regents would take that? to know one of their precious scions was a child of one of their greatest enemies?

so, I've kept it all a secret.

the 𝕷𝓘𝐍𝐄 of 𝕬𝓡𝐓𝐇𝐔𝐑 . . .

i met nick davis when were were barely seven. my family had flown to north carolina from scotland for some order gala. I was barely old enough to remember much of it, nor did I care. my father brought me because I was the next scion of mordred, so I had to be there. and there, I met nick.

we tried to be friends at first, but something about our personalities just clashed. i doubt either of us could pick up on what that was. something about him repulsed me. maybe it was that confident air that was so clearly a facade, maybe it was the way he took pride in his title. maybe it was just his haircut. but, he picked up on my distaste and it quickly became mutual.

the first time we got into a fight was later that knight, it ended in me nearly revealing my black shadowborn aether and my father dragging me away before his shame could be exposed. we left quickly after that.

the second time I met nick, was a few years later. we were eleven now and just as bull headed as before. the moment I saw his blonde fringe and blue soul-piercing eyes, a distaste filled me. but, it was quickly distracted by the black haired kid trailing close to him. the one with amber eyes and a deep hurt that I could almost taste in the air.

that one. that one I liked.

the 𝕹𝓔𝐗𝐓 𝕮𝓗𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 . . .

i transferred to unc before I'd even finished my first year at the university of edinburgh. apparently, my father's morgaine sorceress advisor had predicted the shadowborn's rise coming soon. and, I needed to be where the action was if such a thing happened. so, to the university of north carolina I went.

I stuck out like a sore thumb, but that never bothered me. what bothered me, was being on the same premises as nick for all hours of the day.

well, maybe there's an upside, other than us being able to physically take our anger out on each other now. the strange boy i'd met before, the one with dark hair and striking eyes, I've learned is selwyn kane. nick's kingsmage—the merlin bound to him by oath to protect him.

sel and I are far from a good match. we're both angry, unpredictable, and far too stubborn for our own goods. however, he's also the only one who gets me. he struggles with his own demon heritage, even if not in the same way as me. and, being able to talk to him without nick's provoking presence, might be the only positive of this whole experience.

other than being understand, sel's given me a new way to get my aggression out. we both know our relations are taboo to the order. a scion and a merlin? it was hardly traditional, but not forbidden. however, tradition was everything to the order.

bloodlines leave lasting marks on your life. the impressions of an ancestor that you've never even met, but who's deeds form you as a person. make you who you are, and who you aren't.

strangely, a new sense of bitterness not my own rises in me when I see nick's new page the first time. i assume its because of his influence, as the girl—bree—is kind enough. so what's causing this hate from what I know is mordred's spirit?

i know one thing, bloodlines don't lie.

okay here are some ideas!

1. you are a foreigner royal who's family is invited by uther pendragon to camelot, in order to celebrate an alliance or for economic exchanges. if you want a s/o (who's part of the royals) you can script that your family and the pendragons, in order to reinforce the alliance, make an arranged marriages between you and one of the pendragons. you will get married once you are mature enough, so you will stay at camelot and your family goes away to stay with your s/o + friends.

2. you are the long lost descendants of a very powerful house who were known as the dragons; fifteen years before, the house met their fate during the war against north (camelot) and south (your fam). it was told that no one survived, but the truth was that your last remaining dragon showed loyalty to the family by taking the two years old and heir to the south throne, away from the castle where the massacre was happening and saved you. kilgharrah, the dragon who saved you and loyal to your house, was captured by king uther during his war against magic and you were found and protected by gaius. if you want to marry arthur then this is also a way of you guys create albion

3. merlin's twin. basic storyline BUT HEY having all those powers is cool. if you want to be part of the prophecy…. merlin and arthur are two sides of the same coin, but you are the light guiding them and you are basically the only thing keeping them far apart from failure.

4. if you have a lover you can script that your romance started a legend. just because it’s cool asf

5. being a knight sounds so cool to me. if you are a girl you can script a mulan type of storyline or just script that you are so good (and noble) that uther allowed you.

6. arthur and his knight were hunting when they casually found this big ass tower. and oh! someone was singing! they were FLABBERGASTED when a bunch of loooooong hair fell down the only window. you thought that your “older sister” nimueh was coming, but instead sir leon started climbing your magical hair… then he understood that you were actually being held hostage and manipulated by nimueh: she wanted your powers, and everytime she combed your hair she got more power from you (does this make sense? HELP). when you got saved by the knights and the prince, and then arthur explained to uther that it was nimueh, uther let you stay at camelot… and merlin basically took you under his arm and explained you things about nimueh (who is not your older sister, just a witch) and magic, and gaius and merlin wanted to help you with yours.

7. the third (or second if you don’t want to count morgana) pendragon child. ugh the vibes of being a royallll and imagine falling in love with a knight TRUE MEDIEVAL ROMANCE (lancelot………. ugh i’m blushing)

Born in ancient Trier - Princess Megara Hōtcnere is the eldest child of the King and Queen of the land. The royals value education and experience above all else, leading to the young Megara and Alexandria to be well traveled and widely known before they were of age.

Their most common stop has always been Camelot - under the rule of Uther Pendragon following The Great Purge, which left Camelot a kingdom void of all magic and the act of sorcery punishable by death. This is especially worrisome for Megara, with her father making sure she understands the importance of keeping her abilities hidden so Trier can keep Camelot as an ally.

Similar to Lady Morgana, Megara also has prophetic dreams. These began when she was just a child, mostly consisting of the most mundane of scenarios - a snippet of a conversation regarding the weather, the type of braid a member of the court would wear the following day, a flower she would see on a walk. However, they would only grow in intensity as she grew older. To anyone outside of her family, it would seem as though the Princess simply had trouble sleeping and was unfortunately plagued with nightmares, nothing a small sleeping draught couldn't help with.

Unbeknownst to her and most others, she is one of two remaining dragonlords in all of existence - she and Merlin being the only ones left. It was once believed that dragonlords came from the same bloodline, that it were only the men in that line that inherited the gift from their father's, but there was a time where the gift was more common.

A time before The Great Purge, long before the Pendragon rule and a time when magic was celebrated widely throughout all kingdoms. A time where multiple families across the world possessed the ability to command the will of dragons and speak to them as if the creatures were of their own kind.

This could never last.

The ego and demand of man simply outweighed the ancient ways of co-existing with such creatures, despite the warnings of many Druids and High Priestesses of The Old Religion, men sought to capture and slay dragons - with dragonlords being hunted alongside the creatures so there were few left to speak out about the cruelty they faced.

Many dragonlords went into hiding, with most being found and meeting the same fate as their peers. In time only two would remain, one in the land people would come to know as Albion and one in Germania. Whereas the former of the two affected the men in the family and gifts only awoke when the one before had passed, the latter passed their gifts primarily through the eldest daughters of the family and their gifts awoke when it was time for them to complete their purpose.

Megara in particular holds another ability - an almost prophetic sense of what the future is supposed to look like, of the kind of kingdom Albion is supposed to be. It is her purpose to ensure this future comes to fruition, to help those involved avoid unnecessary hardships and any meddling from outside forces that could stray others from their destiny.

The young Princess always did worry in her childhood - that hiding her abilities would isolate her from having any real connections, that it would deprive her of having any form of childhood at all. Of course, being the child of a royal came with those challenges already. It could be quite lonesome trying to connect with the other children in the village when having a high status and being held to a certain standard constantly, it was one reason Megara was so grateful to have Alexandria - at least having a sibling, a twin at that, gave both of them one person that understood.

That was until the royals of Trier first came to Camelot, the two Princesses that is. At the young and impressionable age of 4 the young royals met another like them, a boisterous and loud thing only a year older than the girls - Prince Arthur Pendragon.

The Princesses had always thought the Prince as arrogant, that he held himself far too important and was overly confident in his abilities. This was a sentiment that was hardly uncommon regarding Arthur, especially as he grew into a young man, though it was held especially strongly by the foreign royals.

The more subdued of the two - Alexandria - did not worry herself with the behaviour of the young boy, she much preferred to stick by their father and ignore the blonde as the Kings discussed the terms of the peace treaty between Camelot and Trier. It was the young Megara that could not hold her tongue, always having a rebuttal although she was hardly the best with her words at that small age and stature.

The two bickered relentlessly for that entire trip, and for those to come in the years that followed as their fathers further discussed and celebrated the peace between their lands. The elders and members of the courts looked to the young royals with fond amusement, almost as if they could see something the children couldn't.

As it would have it, they were more correct than they would know.

By the time they had reached their teens the two royals were almost inseparable, spending most of their time together when they would visit the kingdoms of the other. Everyone had lost track of the amount of times they had been late to dine with their fathers, when they had almost missed out on their duties from being too wrapped up in their fleeting time together before they were to part once more.

Endless time together soon turned to longing glances across dining tables, to sneaking each other out of their respective castles, to hiding away in fields and forests all night, to eventually blossoming into young love.

They would never admit it, not to themselves or to anyone else, though they supposed they never needed to. They understood each other well enough to know how they felt for one another went beyond words, beyond the mortal need to put such overwhelming affection into speech that just anyone could understand.

This was it for the pair, they saw no reason to seek out anyone else, to entertain the mere thought of spending eternity by the side of another, not when they had each other in the way they did.

The bliss of the young royals could not last.

They had few years together for these tender moments, visits spread out throughout their teens before life had to get in the way.

Megara's mother fell gravely ill when she was only 16, no matter what Camelot's court physician did the condition of her mother scarcely improved. The foreign royals knew what they could do for results, to ensure their Queen did not fall, but magic was banned in Camelot.

The decision was made unanimously, without a sliver of hesitation - they were to cease all means of travelling between kingdoms and return to Trier, to seek out those they knew had the abilities to cure their Queen.

Improvements to her mother's health were few and far between, with seemingly no hope that things would return to their former glory, to a way they had all unknowingly taken for granted for all of their time together.

As the older woman's condition seemingly refused to improve, she had but one wish - to see her daughter's taken care of in the form of marriage. To the surprise of very few, the Princesses both refused. They were far too young to be married off, especially when one of them was already now so far from the only one she could picture spending her life with.

Megara's will for her own desires would not last for long, she knew if asked to enough that she would cast aside all of her own desires to meet those of her family, if her giving in meant that Alexandria could live freely for just a little while longer, if it meant their mother got her final wish.

Their father, of course, was far too distraught with the state of affairs to pay much mind to Megara's match. In any other scenario, he would be the picture of the perfect protective father that he had always been for his daughters, but his wife's condition took priority. It was members of Trier's court, of the King's trusted advisors that sought out a match for the Princess and within time a man by the name of Tyrion was selected.

The man was the perfect gentleman - attentive, caring, protective. The court was more than satisfied with the match they had orchestrated and they were set to be wed.

However the facade could only last for so long, just long enough for Megara to become charmed by the man, then it faded into something else entirely. The details of such change and the events that followed were something Megara scarcely recounted to anyone - the only exception being her father, who then placed a bounty on the man's life. The court only knew that the presence of Megara had become a rarity for a time, that she had grown quiet and beside herself as her nightmares only grew in frequency and intensity.

Within time, things slowly began to return to what they had once been, as much as they could with all that had occurred within such a small window of time. Within the span of a year Megara's impending marriage was no more, with no one daring to utter a word about the situation from fear of consequence, and her mother making a full recovery from her illness.

Though those who they had left in their past were unaware of such developments, communication between Megara and Arthur especially had ceased entirely within mere months - something the Princess accepted full responsibility for with heart-wrenching guilt every time she thought of the Prince.

Five years had passed before the foreign royals began to travel again, the Princesses now being 21 and having a younger brother by the name of Jacques to join them. It just so happened that over this silent period, Uther had managed to negotiate peace with outlying kingdoms and had invited Trier to sign a treaty amongst them all - guaranteeing safety and camaraderie between them all.

It was now time for Megara's destiny to begin, for her to aid in ensuring Arthur would become the greatest king to ever live and that Albion would be united as it was always fated to be.

This would not be without its challenges, with Uther's enemies seeking to take down Camelot through various means - mainly that of magic that she was still keeping hidden within herself. Not to mention The Great Dragon poisoning Merlin's mind, guiding the young warlock to complete his fate by means deemed acceptable by the old creature with complete disregard for the consequences it would have amongst others, convincing the servant that Megara would be one of the obstacles seeking to withhold him from fulfilling his destiny.

Then there was Arthur. Her dear Arthur. The pair had not uttered a word to one another in many years, who was to know how their reunion would unfold, if Arthur would even give her a second glance after all the time that had passed.

It is here that this tale will end, for the rest has not yet been written. Will Megara be successful in her purpose? Will Merlin be able to break free of the control of The Great Dragon and be able to truly see the creature for what it is? Will Arthur have found another to claim his heart, or will it be too late for our royals to get the ending they once believed was fated for them?

Anyone else have a DR that they don't like posting about?

For me, I find it very difficult to post about my Merlin DR, as it's so important to me. That reality has just always felt more sacred to me than any other. Every time I try to post anything about it I feel so uneasy. It's just too personal to share with the internet, despite it not technically being dissimilar to any of my other DRs. I think that sometimes I forget that I'm actually talking about my life. But still, I really enjoy sharing things about my other realities, so I'll continue doing that. I might post about my Merlin DR at some point in the future, but it probably won't have any context. As a wise button collector once said, "Hey so it actually only has to make sense to me for me to do it and I don’t feel like explaining it to anyone else.”
