Okay, but...

Imagine Nyx as a seaside witch, sworn in service to the King of Lucis. Still running his quiet bar with Libertus, in a sleepy little village nestled somewhere between the mountains (Libertus’ domain) and the ocean. 

Imagine his rooms, covered in his salvaged treasures-- the windchimes of driftwood and shells (to tell him if a storm is coming), the fragments of coral and bone suspended by clever knots in dreamcatchers (to ward off the horrors of the depths that can follow him up), and the trinkets of ancient coins and pieces of stone statue from the ruined coasts of Lucis and the hallowed, hollow shores of where Insomnia once stood. 

Imagine the net suspended over his bed, with little shards of shell and crystal set into the thick ropes in the shape of constellations-- which Selena teased him over, because he’s an idiot for having it over him when he sleeps in case the hooks fail and it falls on him (though she added a glass float from the docks to represent the moon). 

Just think of seasode witch Nyx strolling along the beaches as he checks the lines he had cast out. And trying not to smile as his lobster traps come in with a certain bratty merfolk caught with his hand in the damned thing. Again.

Because Nyx designed the traps, and didn’t teach Noctis the release yet. So his mischievous little prince gets caught with his hand literally in the cookie jar.
