In the middle of this year, we were invited to design a set for Esquire's Women's We Love issue for the month of July featuring the very lovely Jacqui Thibodeaux. It was such a great learning experience - SO MUCH WORK goes on behind the scenes for every picture that you see in a publication.
So bright and early at 715am, we were at The White Rabbit preparing the different scenes for Alvelyn and Jacqui to frolick about in front and behind the camera.
Lady in white is Janie, who held up a phone to play some trippy music to add to the atmosphere of the shoot, too cute!

That has been a not-so-secret desire that we have been harbouring (especially for elf Joyce). We just love working with different space canvases; every space has its own set of limitations and endless potential. Designing and crafting for different spaces to set a certain mood and experience really thrills us. Collaborating with Rockstar has been a dream, and really enriching. It's always wonderful & inspiring working alongside people with passion. :)

We were very much thrilled to be a part of the ODWS movement in Singapore at Rockstar this year! We've been fans of the concept behind Toms and the shoes themselves for the longest time so we jumped at the opportunity to curate and set up a lemonade booth on the day itself, as well as to help change up the atmosphere of the space for a "Style your Sole" workshop.
Set up is never easy, but time and time again, we find ourselves so blessed to have the bestest help in the world - our siblings. We face quite a number of challenges being a start up (limited funds, limited manpower, lots of doubts) but God has been always so good to provide us with the best earthly support system. We will never forget our days of humble beginnings. Thank you Ben & Weijie! :)
We spent the night before decking out the space - kudos to the awesome team at Rockstar for being so enthusiastic and upbeat even at 11pm at night. True rockstars!

Post ODWS saw us adding a layer of crafted experience to the big windows! (Hehe can you all recognise our trusty helper Ben?) We brought a whole family of giant origami swans down to the store to be hung up against the cloth buntings in sunset hues!
Elf Joyce can barely contain her excitement, hurrhurr.
The ever talented Eleanor added her wonderful touch with her handwritten type on the glass. WAO.
What an experience! These swans have sung their swan song and they're retiring from the windows today. It has been a dream! Thank you, Rockstar! You guys are gems!
As huge fans of TOMS, we are super excited to be part of One Day Without Shoes (ODWS) organised by Rockstar by Soon Lee. For those not familiar with the awesome concept behind TOMS - for every pair of TOMS footwear that you purchase, they give a pair to a child in need. One for one! With shoes, these children can protect their feet from cuts and infections, and go to school! Tomorrow, the both of us at In Merry Motion will be going barefoot as advocates of this wonderful movement. One for one, how lovely!

Lots of ODWS festivities at Rockstar (Orchard 22) tomorrow! There's going to be a Style Your Sole workshop by MessyMsxi for your new/old TOMS, materials all fully provided by the wonderful rockstars at Rockstar. We're decking the workshop space out with buntings and we're bringing lemonade. There's going to be cupcakes and burgers as well. SHIOK. See you there tomorrow, barefoot! :)
