Love thy Frenemy ~ Merry x Kat

“God why are you here? Don’t you have a cave to haunt?” 

The taunting voice was one she knew well from a gargantuan woman she more often than not so wanted to kick in the knee’s which was all that she could easily reach should they break into a fight.  

Rather than respond to the womans taunt with words, Kat instead threw one arm up flipping the other the bird while her face stayed buried in her lap. She didn’t want to lift her head lest the other realize she had been huddled over crying for the last half hour; She would rather have her eyes eaten by peruvian sea slugs than let Merry see her cry and yet the other wasn’t leaving. 

‘What’s wrong Merry? Ran out of children to scare? Did they all run screaming to the hills?’ the robotic voice from was slightly muffled as Kat held up the phone. 

‘The Discovery channel called, they want their big foot suit back.’

DISASTER : for both muses to work together to escape a fire, flood, or other disaster.

When it rained, it poured and tonight it was doing more than that! Katarina had fled into the rickity old building to escape the sudden downpour but instead of it ending quickly, the rain had been going for hours only getting worse. Now the water was beginning to rise in the building and she was trying not to panic.

It was already past the first floor and showed no signs of stopping, sure the witch could swim, but there was no telling what could be in that water.

Now on the third floor, she was frantically flashing the flashlight she'd brought along out of the window hoping someone would see her or the light.

Just when she was contemplating whether or not to move higher, she heard someone screaming from below. Glancing down she could see a figure in a makeshift raft slowly fighting the current to come to her.

'Merry?!'

💢 Bang on a door/wall/table to get my muse’s attention- angrily

Green eyes had been riveted on the book of healing spells she had found in the dusty shelves of the library as her hand steadily scrawled down ingredients and chants to aid her in remaking some of them at another time. It was a shame books like this couldn’t be rented, they would have been so handy. 

So deep in her studies was the witch that she didn’t hear someone speaking to her until they were slamming their hand on the table in front of her in quite a pissy manner. Blinking twice Katarina’s head slowly rose from the book, her eyes being the last thing to arrive to meet the gaze of the very tall, hairdresser she had met once before in the village. 

Pulling her notebook closer she flipped to a new page penning a note to the woman. 

‘May I assist you with something? You seem...upset? Or in a hurry? What’s the issue at hand?’

Beauty room drop in ~ Merry and Katarina

Merry had been dragging some hairdyes from the back to the front when she was first faced with a beautiful dog. “Hello- oh sorry;” She had first greeted the canine before the woman and she smiled, waiting for her to speak when she saw the note and took it from the tiny girl. “Your dog can come in, it is fine.” She said as she gestured at the dog and then finally read the note. “No that is quite alright I have time now if you want?” She smiled “You have very pretty hair. Take a seat- do you want some tea or coffee love?”

That was such a relief. She honestly hated leaving Vanimelda outside for long periods of time but some places preferred the rather large dog not to be inside even if he was quite tame. Clapping softly she motioned him in and he gingerly stepped through the salon until he was laying close but not in the way of the women. 

‘Thank you, its not used to this water and I fear the split ends have multiplied since I arrived here.’ Sitting down in one of the chairs she glanced around the salon. 

‘Your salon is the first I’ve visited and it looks lovely. Tea would be wonderful thank you.’
