did u see the new merulanella revision dropped? i have no idea whether links work in asks, so i'll mess with the url a little:
https ://doi. org/ 10.3897 /nhcm. 2.144386
I have not seen the study- probably because I am a recreational isopod enthusiast- but I am DEFINITELY having a lot of fun reading through this, I've had thoughts of merulanella species being quite different before in some ways, so I'm happy that it is being researched! also I am roughly a 1/3 through and it already feels like they're slandering verhoeff despite using the most passive language possible which I find unreasonably funny. thank you for this! I am having a very fun evening indeed!
here's the link for anyone wanting to read it too
Also if you're a recreational isopod enthusiast, which I doubt you are to be honest since the paper came out YESTERDAY, then check out @identifying-isopods-in-posts's ongoing creation of the isopod identification guide! very fun.
