Maui  was  sitting  on  the  beach,  glaring  at  the  waves  as  they  had  deeply  insulted  him.  It  wasn't  the  first  time  he  had  fought  with  Ikaris  and  wouldn't  be  the  last.  He  honestly  knew  that  most  of  the  time,  their  arguments  were  just  men  being  prideful  idiots  but  also,  there  was  something  deeper  hidden  underneath.

Sersi  --  He  wasn't  blind  and  could  see  how  the  other  Eternal  looked  at  her,  making  his  blood  boil.  He  could  admit  to  himself  that  he  was  jealous,  jealous  of  every  smile  she  turned  his  way  or  innocent  touch.  But,  because  Ikaris  had  it  simple,  he  had  nothing  holding  him  back  but  his  own  reluctance  to  admit  how  he  felt.

   Maui  would  have  told  Sersi  years  ago  how  he  felt,  how  every  time  he  held  her  close,  he  never  wanted  to  let  her  go.  But,  he  never  did  because  he  had  felt  himself  becoming  lost  in  the  last  few  decades.  He  would  drift  off  into  his  mind,  and  it  would  take  longer  for  him  to  come  out  of  it  each  time.

   What  if  the  myths  were  true?  What  if  he  was  going  mad?

   "Come  here,  I  think  you  need  a  hug."

Her  voice  brought  him  out  of  his  thoughts,  turning  he  saw  @mesmersi​  standing  there  with  a  soft  smile  on  her  beautiful  face.  What  if  he  was  a  danger  to  her?  He  thought  about  it  for  a  moment,  rubbing  his  cracked  knuckles  as  the  side  of  his  face  throbbed  -  he  never  was  great  using  his  words  in  a  fight.  He  felt  he  knew  the  answer,  yes,  Maui  was  a  danger,  but  at  that  moment,  he  was  too  in  need  of  her  touch  to  deny  her.  He  didn't  move  but  instead  opened  his  arms  to  her,  expecting  to  take  her  usual  place  in  his  lap.
