Something I like and enjoy about you a lot Maria is how you are So Real about things, even while, I think (and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), remaining a deep down true romantic. And this world is not always kind to romantics because, well, it contains quite a bit of ugliness and seemingly random mundanity that we have to go searching through in pursuit of meaning and purpose, truth and beauty. But I use the word "seemingly" intentionally because I think we are called to search and redeem, to find or bring that truth and beauty to the world around us! And you do this so well! That's the caliber of romanticism you have! Measured against it, many things will appear pale and smudged (as in "a mirror dimly"), and the disappointment or even ire inspired by things falling short of what they were or could have been is perhaps the burden of those with eyes to see what they should have been, and all that they may yet someday be. Maybe "romanticism" isn't exactly the right word, either—only the closest I can get to the true meaning in what I'm describing about you. All I wanted to say here really is that I think it's a true and beautiful thing about you, not to be confused with perfectionism or mere fancifulness. And even while you navigate seasons of letting go, I hope you're able to hang on to this, and that the love you have for things as they were meant to be returns to you always! 💚💚💚
Faith, I keep trying to answer this but I love it so much I don’t even know what to say!!! Except that I absolutely do struggle with being this way and sometimes (often) question if it’s worth it, if I’m seeing beauty or meaning where I should or just really WANTING to.
