ooh yes chas wetting himself for attention too...if stanley's attention is not on him fully he feels the need to act out..other littles come by & other cgs and hes like :/

also involved with neil shenanigans for this reason-even negative attention is attention, he's cracked the code. ok but cdv actually so anxious if he feels left alone, some of these things become involuntary like wetting himself that it's self soothing in a way.

I think sometimes he might even fake wetting/messing right in front of Stanley to get a reaction. (Sometimes he literally does make a mess though) To him it's really funny seeing Stanley sigh and frown only for that expression to turn into surprised confusion when he finds clean trousers lol.

I can see him self soothing like that yeah... Maybe when he's big and left alone because he doesn't expect to shift, but suddenly he goes small and nobody's there and the house feels so empty... Feels good to let that go probably

Feel like chas will wet his pants on purpose & try to run off & hide to further mess his pants. Stanley usually can sense when especially if he hasnt seen him in a minute... hes not doing anything he swears..

Chas is like hiding behind the couch, looking around conspicuously. Stanley appears in the doorway all thunder and lightning. "WHAT are you doing Charles"

One more thought: Ned having a messy accident on occasion got me thinking of which other Littles would end up in this situation at least once (side note I love you original anon).

Henry has definitely had a few very emotional very tiny days (or just a day where his PTSD is in full control) and had ended up in a dirty nappy or soiled pants before. His caregivers try to keep him very close when he’s having a hard day because if he messes himself he’ll find somewhere to hide and will get a terrible rash poor little bug. He’s inconsolable when he’s found and it takes two people to get him changed because he has to be held so he doesn’t flee.

Sol in his Hickey neglect era likely had at least one messy accident. He knew it was going to happen but he was so scared and no one would go with him to relieve himself and he ended up going in his pants. If Hickey or Gibson found out before he managed to handle it on his own they reacted extremely poorly and probably shamed him so badly he avoided them at all costs if he was feeling small.

Collins nooo don't hide ;_; 💔

Him hiding would probably lead to at least one situation of "where is collins?" "i thought you were watching him..?" "Ah shi-" and a subsequent Collins hunt... I'm wondering whether there'd be something that would get him to go change with less force. He doesn't feel very food motivated to me so maybe praise will be enough, but it's definitely HARD. Lots of headpats while also being held in place.

Tozer's probably had one or more too, yeah... I think Hickey might change him, but would be either really weird about it or grimace through it and have some comments that make Sol want to fall through the floor...

this may be fucked up but I know you won't judge so um. Well one side effect of scurvy and the general conditions during the walk is well. Incontinence and a case or two of the runs. The book is rather more explicit about that last part than the show, and I'm glad the show did not really go there, but. I'm thinking at least in a little!AU they'd be wearing nappies and getting changed nice and tidy by a loving caregiver... maybe that'd help them with their troubles, not being alone and left to deal with soiled shirts and trousers but being able to waddle to the next caregiver and timidly tug their sleeve... Yes the shale is cold and harsh on the back and it is embarrassing, but a change on a quickly arranged blanket with a few potential spectators is better than sores and rashes!

If I'm being honest. I've thought about it before. And I can't do it for too long because it makes me really sad, but I love this sliver of gentleness out on the cold rocks.

Simultaneously my brain is screaming NO NO THEY SHOULDN'T BE HERE AT ALL THEY SHOULD BE SWADDLED IN FRONT OF A WARM FIREPLACE. But also it's so fun... so intriguing.

After the walk has just started there still might be some privacy in the tents - not many men are sick. But as time goes on there's just no room anymore. So they have to move it outside. And it's cold and it's uncomfortable and their caregiver's hand is rough with calluses and frostbite, but it's also gentle and loving and pets their cheek if they cry.

Poor baby Ned in his messy diaper 🥺 he needs a grownup!! He would be so teary and miserable the rest of the day everyone would be able to tell something had upset him. I think George and John would be keeping an eye on him, exchanging glances trying to figure out what’s wrong, giving him an extra pat on the back. Crozier definitely ends up finding out because Ned is being soooooo weird and he saw McDonald and him emerge from sickbay together and McDonald can’t lie to the captain when he’s asked directly about it.

Maybe George will offer Ned some tea in his cabin, to you know.. chat over! But John is already waiting there and they ambush Ned with a sandwich hug. He ends up crying but doesn't tell them what's wrong even when asked.

Crozier doesn't do much about it safe for giving Nedward less work that day and the day after... He keeps thinking about the incident though.
