inspired by the glee version of don't speak <3
You were starting to feel restless, you're unsure of what the argument is about this time. It always seems to be your fault somehow.
Caitlyn slammed the door shut. Signaling that the conversation is over. You found yourself walking over to the couch, you were drained. This relationship that was once full of love and light, was draining every bit of life left in you.
You wondered what went wrong. How the two of you even got here. The more Caitlyn started to stay out late is more you questioned her and her behavior. Caitlyn hated being 'accused' for something she didn't do.
Or so she claimed.
You couldn't help but hear a buzzing sound on repeat. You got up from the couch and made way to the kitchen, where you saw Caitlyn's phone lighting up with notifications.
You weren't the type to go through your partner's phone. You never have and you didn't intended on doing so, however your gut was screaming at you to check in. You knew her password.
What could a little peek do?
Caitlyn was pacing back and forth in the bedroom the two of you share. She was attempting at trying to calm herself down from the heated argument the two of you had.
She knew she was in the wrong.
Caitlyn knew what she did but she couldn't tell you the truth. She knew how you would react. She doesn't deserve you, but she wants you. Caitlyn knows how selfish she was being but she couldn't find it in her to care.
She made a mistake, if that's what she tells you then everything would be fine.
You both would be fine.
Caitlyn calmed herself down and decided it would be best to smooth things over with you. She didn't know when she wanted to tell you what happened but the sooner she tells you hopefully the better you would react.
Caitlyn just hopes so.
She walks out the bedroom and carefully closes the door not wanting to make any loud sounds. She feels like she's walking on a ledge.
"Babe?"
Caitlyn calls out, when she doesn't see you in the living room she gets worried. It's not like you left, your purse and keys were in the usual spot you always left them.
When Caitlyn walked into the kitchen she was relieved to see you. She wanted to make things right between the two of you.
You looked up and saw Caitlyn entering the kitchen, you couldn't make eye contact with the woman you once loved.
"How long?"
"What?" Caitlyn questioned
"How long Caitlyn?"
"Babe I don't know what you're talking about? Can you explain please?"
"Fine. How long have you been fucking Vi?"
Caitlyn froze, "What?"
"Should I repeat myself?"
You threw Caitlyn's phone to the ground, you watched as it shattered into pieces. You looked back up at Caitlyn watching her usual cold stoic expression become frantic and perturbed.
"I saw the message."
"You looked through my phone?"
"That's your main concern right now? Really?"
Caitlyn sighed, "What do you want me to say? Yes we fucked. That was months ago. Get over it."
"Get over it?" Your voice started shake. "Get over it??"
"It was months ago?? I saw the fucking dates you had sex with her on my fucking birthday Caitlyn. What the fuck is wrong with you?" You couldn't fathom this.
"You were out of state."
"For my birthday. A trip planned by my family that you were invited to but you had to work. Now I know work meant fuck other bitches."
"I cannot believe you."
It was almost as if you were talking to a different person. The sweet girl you once were madly in love with is no where to be found. You were losing your best friend. This was really the end for the two of you. No matter what she can say or do can fix this.
"Get out."
"Excuse you?"
"Get out Caitlyn. Out."
"This is our apartment."
"My name is on the lease, now get the fuck out."
"Baby please don't do this to us."
"Just please stop explaining, don't speak this-" You paused, holding back tears. "This is over."
You left Caitlyn alone in the kitchen with her phone shattered and your heart to match. You gave her everything and so much more. You were there for the death of her mom, when she became a general, and so much more. And she just casted you aside without a second thought.
You were done.
You wanted nothing more to do with her.
