first of all: how dare you. lance has suffered enough. you've actually hurt me, the langst is too much.

what can i say, i love langst. i CRAVE the langst. have i told you about “ok, i hear you on what if clay got picked up by the BoM instead of jestro... but what if lance betrayed the other knights just to be with him”

Ok, but what if Clay formally courted Lance. Clay giving Lance romantic trinkets/ flowers. Clay serenading Lance under the moonlight. Clay reading him (terrible) poetry, but Lance finding it sweet and endearing. Clay giving Lance his undivided attention, and doting on him. Just, Clay courting Lance.

I AGREE WITH THIS ALL 100% WITHOUT A DOUBT - and im so into it, and i Really Want That. THE ONLY HITCH IS i think in formal courting you need to seek the approval of your partner’s parents and uh... pretty sure cuthbert and the missus would never approve of their son being courted by a commoner. how the boys would deal with that Is Anyones Game I Guess

some acts of formal courting clay would be So About - for instance he could totally do stuff like give lance flowers and trinkets and hold doors open for lance with no hesitation - and he does generally pay attention to lance the most out of all of the knights so thats easy for him too... now... lets think about... clay getting embarrassed and hesitant, maybe stuttering a little, trying to serenade lance or trying to read poetry, he wants to do this but he feels like hes fucking up, that its too cheesy and corny and maybe lance wouldnt be that into it -- but it all only endears lance even more. and lance would complain about how the poetry is bad, and clay’d feel really embarrassed at first, until he notices that lance is smiling, and he's giggling, and it is so cute, it may not have been the reaction he was looking for but its setting his heart on fire

but... also, consider... lance giving favors (scarves, hand-embroidered by dennis upon lance’s insistence) to clay for him to wear (like this) ... maybe even in combination with clay courting lance.......... imagine..........
