meta is trying to lure the twitter refugees over to threads with their lack of bots and straight forward UI, BUT do they announce the news through a meme template from the hit cw show, supernatural? that’s what I thought

I know people are trying to find a replacement for twitter, but please do not switch to facebook's knockoff "threads"

Much better to use mastadon or something like that which is open source and non profit so it won't ever sell your info to anyone and doesn't serve ads that track you constantly.

Added benefit is no content algorithm to try and hijack your your dopamine receptors or to censor/manipulate what information people see and what goes viral. It's also not run to suit an investment agenda so there is a massively lower chance that it will suddenly flop due to enshittification like all the corporate social media platforms do eventually and all the digital social infrastructure won't just disappear overnight some day.

If you sign up for Threads, the Meta-owned Twitter alternative, it is connected to Instagram. If you decide you don't like Threads, you cannot delete it unless you delete your Instagram account.

We never get confirmation the book of life actually erases ppl do we? We never actually see it used, and in fact Crowley's first reaction is that extreme sanctions are made up. We only assume it is real bc Crowley acts like it is. But, honestly, Crowley doesnt Know and is still unsure. Crowley would just rather drink holy water than risk Aziraphale, so he takes the risk seriously.

But that doesn't mean it wotks as advertised. And Metatron stops the Archangels before they can use it on Aziraphale. Maybe Metatron is using this concept to keep Angels in line?

And who knows, maybe the Book of Life does something else, something that if everyone knew would cause problems to the end of world plans.

Although what Really gets me, is that in the book there where themes of just generally being anti cold war (two opposing sides willing tondestroy the world to prove who is better) and while i cannot figure out what it means, there is just something Political about the phrase extreme sanctions that makes me think whatever the Book of Life does (and it may do the extreme sanctions thing!) Ties into this political theme.
