Everyone's like "meta writers read too much into things and see things that aren't there lol" like?? 1.) for the first part, that's what they do, they read into the things we don't even think to think of, they catch the things we don't catch, and 2.) for the second part um i don't know about you but if I had a super ficking popular show with a diehard dedicated fan base studying every episode I would absolutely put tons of symbolism and mise en scene and all sorts of stuff to see if they would pick up on it! I'd have some fun with them and with unpacking different parallels and developments before it became obviously apparent to the general audience

So like what makes people think that the writers and directors don't put a certain amount of thought in?? What makes people claim meta writers are delusional instead of just thinking "hey maybe they're talking about something I didn't notice before?"

Just no hating on meta writers please they're pretty damn cool

I want to send a supportive shoutout to erensjeagerbombs for their analysis posts and contribution to the fandom, especially after the recent chapter drop! They’ve always made such insightful character metas and are a voice of rationality in the meta community. They look to all sides of the subject and are open to many types of ideas. They run a quality blog. I want them to know there are a lot of people here who do appreciate what they come up with! :)

The gap between what I want as a fic writer and what I want as a meta writer is wider than the gap between a cowboy’s thighs
