I hate it when trainers give these partial explanations of the importance of strength training in building muscle to burn more calories. Why? As you do strength (also HIIT) training you use a higher percentage of carbohydrates to fat (look up RER/respiratory exchange ratio). What's the problem with this? HUNGER. As you use carbohydrate to fuel your strength workout your blood sugars begin to dip. What is the result of low blood sugar levels? HUNGER. If you're someone unacustomed to this, it typically results in some type of bingeing post-exercise. It's super important to get people to understand this. Then they tell them to drop calories because their goal is to lose weight and they're already in a state of hunger....this is a fucking problem. Just keep the calories the same, adjust macros for recovery. Wait 2 weeks and see what happens. #fitness #exos #acefitness #nasm #metaboliceffect #hec #hunger #energy #cravings #bloodsugar #strengthtraining #strength
