I was completely unprepared for this scene when I read the comic. There’s no doubt in my mind he was alive when he was thrown into the pigsty. Worst unexpected horror experience I’d had in years.

I think we were all completely unprepared. I loved issue 1 so much that I was at my comic store the instant it opened on the day #2 came out because I was SO EXCITED, and then I bought it and went outside to start reading, and... no... no... oh no.

I did have some of the beans, but ham gelatin is...it’s too much. I’ve had beef gelatin and it’s just so salty.

You know, I googled, and it looks like you can get them to pretty convincingly gelatin up.

Indeed I am! I wouldn’t miss it, and Mum’s coming too. She’s a bit skeptical of the marriage but I’m sure once she meets R’s wife she’ll warm up to the idea.

Speaking of, @talondark and @gryphonrhi, thank you for your lovely offers to hang out/tour around while I’m in Memphis, but I’ll be taken up pretty much full time with chaperoning mum and the wedding, and won’t be in the actual city for very long (the wedding is outside of it). But I really appreciate the thought!

Well, not by blood. But we call each other brothers by another mother, and he calls my mum Mama (her first name). So I think of him as my brother and her as my sister-in-law.

It’s one of the small towns in northern Indiana, just near the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. (I don’t want to give too many details because it’s R’s hometown.)

The question is what part of the body they eat that initiates the change. Do they only need to feast on the flesh, or is it when they eat the brain? If it’s the former, then eggs should work.

Yeah, one ghoul had been "nibbling" on the same guy for like... a hundred and fifty years, just because he liked the idea of being an old west cowboy. It only takes a tiny nibble, apparently, and they take on that form.

Initially they said it would mainly affect the west coast, but now the warning has been extended to the whole country. I’m not near the west coast so we might not be too bad, but it depends on the strength of it. We’re a really small country, so it’s hard to tell.
