“That’s… utterly ridiculous, Zack.” Sephiroth accused. Or tried to. There was a blend of too many things in his voice; amusement, pain, wonder, fear, deep appreciation and bitterness. He was relatively certain that wasn’t all of them.
It had to be a dream. It felt like a dream, like something that was happening but not. Zack was there, after all, in front of him… and he remembered.
He remembered. Then it simply couldn’t be the real Zack, could it? Speaking to him. Seemingly accepting him, even being perhaps ever so slightly protective in his own way.
It was… fine. If it wasn’t really Zack. (It wouldn’t be as fine upon waking, but he gave that little acknowledgement.) It was enough to speak and be spoken to.
It was enough to state, in no uncertain terms, “If you were the sun, you’d burn yourself out for everyone you loved without a thought given to yourself. Then you’d have so very many lectures to sit through.”
Sephiroth went silent for a moment, simply embraced the opportunity to take in that vision again, of Zack before... everything. “I do appreciate the thought, however.”
