Omg the cyborg from Metroid 😳
Greetings everybody, sorry for the extended radio silence, life's been a busy one, but know my hands haven't been idle! 💪
I've been having to try different things so I don't burn out 😮💨, and during the month of February I've been tirelessly working on what I've considered to be one of the most fun projects I've had the greatest pleasure to spend time on! So here's what I've cooked up! 🔥✍️
This the current WIP of my latest project. After getting inspired by the release of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, This is my personal redesign for terroristic and cold bio-mechanical AI, Mother Brain! 🦾 🧠 from the ever iconic Metroid series of games.
The first design is meant to be her "Origin design" from her initial creation to up until the events of the prequel manga era, before the chozo, Grey Voice, would try to end her life, though the most he could do was wound the bio-mechanical AI. This design in particular takes primarily from her appearances in Metroid Zero Mission & the 1989 Dic TV series, Captain N: The Game Master.
The second design is meant to be her "Zero Mission design", after Grey Voice's last stand, the chozo would leave Mother Brain heavily wounded, her face and lips were completely burned away, leaving only her eye lid & brow, her paranoia from the unpredictable nature of fully organic beings growing dramatically, hiding herself deep within the bowels of Tourian, sealing herself in a mechanized housing made of a Zebetite infused alloy, ensuring she wouldn't be so easily caught off gaurd again. This design uses the same references as the "Origin design", as well as added elements from the original NES design of Mother Brain for the "mask" of her robotic housing, as well as the mechanical tusks, these allow for energy protection, so she doesn't have to expose herself fully to attack samus, should the reinforced glass on her chamber be penetrated.
I know I haven't been that active on here, I do apologize for that, and I can't promise how soon I'll update, but I promise not to take so long. Stay safe, drink water, and have a splendid day! (or night!) 👋 >v<
Y’all wanna know something funny? My version of Dark Samus is drastically different from the canon version, (Mostly because of a theory that I have that they’re not actually evil, they just don’t understand morals or laws yet). Like here look:
Canon:
Evil
Murders people who get in the way
Psychotic and possibly sadistic
Space pirates worship them like a god
Manipulative, ruthless and cunning
Phazon for power
Vs
Mine:
Doesn’t understand what they’re doing is wrong
More like a child
Can’t understand English or communicate correctly
Needs phazon to live
Scared of everything except space pirates
Would probably murder Ridley if they found out about him
Only kills when needed
Plus I’m making a Metroid AU and in that version they’re called “Prime” as a preferred name! :)

On Metroid
Apparently some people REALLY didn't like Samus Returns? Like, on a "if this is where Metroid is headed it should have stayed dead" kind of level. I mean, no game is perfect, but at the same time I don't know why a fanbase that's wanted a new game for so long would spit in the gift horse's mouth. I really liked the game, but looking around I'm having trouble telling how large this vocal minority is. If you have a grasp on how the fanbase is split, or you didn't enjoy the game, give me some insight please. I don't want Metroid or its fanbase to suffer from a few bad apples.
On that note, here are a few criticisms that I've heard floating around and would prefer not to be repeated;
Graphics/Art: The 3DS is old. Any failings on this part are not the fault of MercurySteam or Nintendo.
Pacing: This one's valid, I'm just sick of hearing it. There are "good" Metroids with way worse pacing.
Fanservice/Continuity: I live for this stuff. Seeing all the nods to other games made me super happy, so I'm sorry if it didn't make you feel the same way.
Oops more birds. Decided to make Alba Tross a (deceased) partner and make Silk Talons her daughter.
Oh yeah and here’s a version of them and their giant hatchling with Samus added in for scale.
Might draw Grey Voice and Old Bird just for funsies and then we’ll get back to our regularly scheduled unhinged Chell x Samus posting. I just needed a slight intermission between chapters ngl.
I have such a dumb idea for a Chozo character and I need to share it.
Her name is Alba Tross, she’s an old lady with a knitted shawl she definitely made herself, a straw hat covered in flowers, tiny glasses she can’t possibly see out of, and some mysterious past where she definitely kicked a lot of ass. She’s the kind of old woman that’s over having any sense of shame, she believes if there’s something to stand up for you do it. The local kids on whatever planet she lives on definitely call her granny. She’s past her prime and she knows it, but she’s got her old powersuit on hand ready to defend her neighbors at the drop of a hat. She doesn’t quite understand everything these younguns do but she listens and accepts them anyway. The Galactic Federation didn’t exist back in her day but she’s damn proud of what these young men and women are doing to protect the galaxy. She’s only heard of Samus, but she’d love to meet her someday, if nothing else just to see the Thoha’s last baby all grown up.
