Queens of the Stone Age - "Mexicola" From the Promo CDEP Live At Bob's Garage (1999)

Originally broadcast live on Seattle's KISW on February 15, 1999, this was released later that year on a four-track promo CD-R by Loosegroove Records.
A better version than on the debut. I don't wanna say that the drums are deft or anything like that, because they're not, they're *pounded*, like everything else with this band. But there is an interesting back and forth between the rhythm guitar and the drums, as if Alfredo Hernandez is banging away but only in between the downstrokes.

Based on the wikipedia article, "golden syrup" seems roughly equivalent to HFCS plus a small amount of molasses. 'Course, I don't think I've seen HFCS in a grocery store either, aside from on ingredient lists.
Best as I can tell, golden syrup is chemically more or less the same as hfcs, but made from somewhat caramelized cane sugar rather than corn and allegedly has a flavor someone would actually want to be able to taste. And yeah, I haven't seen HFCS sold in grocery stores either, only an endemic ingredient that causes an undesirable aftertaste and so is avoided not only by the health conscious but also the taste conscious consumers. Full-sugar "mexicola" Coca-Cola in glass bottles from Mexican bottlers are a popular grey market item in the US because even something as internationally standardized as Coca-Cola apparently tastes noticably worse made with HFCS vs cane sugar.
Seminyak for me is Bali's most stylish and upscale beach resort area. It's home to among the island's most luxurious resorts like W Retreat & Spa, and party places like Potato Head Beach club, La Favela, and Mexicola. Fine restaurants, boutiques, and even fashion stores line the streets. Seminyak's Petitenget Beach offers a more secluded ambiance compared to Kuta's and Legian's. However, the after sunset nightlife scene takes over and the crowd starts to go wild in number.
Motel Mexicola is a colourful and quirky Mexican bar and restaurant down Jalan Kayujati. The tasty and modern takes on traditional Mexican fare are accompanied by a drinks list featuring tequilas, margaritas and Cuba libres, that can be enjoyed al fresco.
The first things to catch your eye at Motel Mexicola are the splashes of colours cover its front entrance, with ‘Taqueria, Rockin' Maria’ written above a counter that serves Mexican drinks, tacos and fajitas. This street side cantina is an early night treat for those hooking up with friends before going inside the main building to party. Motel Mexicola also features a more laid-back upstairs where you can take a cosy seat, sit back, and enjoy the view down to the ravers in the courtyard below. It’s one of the latest and best places to enjoy a good night in Seminyak, with simple and affordable Mexican food, and great drinks and atmosphere.
As a natural extension to Kim Soo, Cafe Kim Soo is a living experience of the Kim Soo product range -- raw wood, recycled teak root, glassware and ceramics. Marble top French cafe tables, teak kitchen hutches, vintage wooden chairs, brassware, cushions are also present. Additionally, authentic handcrafts that are hand hewn quality reflects the unpretentious and useable beauty of the Kim Soo aesthetic. Kim Soo is #interiorgoals, to be honest.
Tucked on the side of vibrant Poppies Street in Legian, XOXO welcomes all the guests to enjoy the hugs and kisses of their delish Ice cream roll speciality. Its interior is elegantly rustic, dominated by black and wood color. Beat the heat with a delicious cold sweet treat, freshly crafted upon your order It's like doing a japanese teppanyanki, but the temperature of the steel pan is chilled to -35. A choice of dairy milk is poured onto the cold grill and mixed with fruit, green tea, coffee or other ingredients, then the mixture is chopped and stirred while crystallising creating ready-to-eat creamy rolls. I would totally recommend getting the Red Wedding, for all of you berries lovers out there!
We are your morning coffee RITUAL. We are your MID-DAY juice & SMOOTHIE hang out. We are your go-to healthy salad bar. We are your post work out pit stop. We are your sneaky afternoon treat & throughout all of this - We are kynd.
Who said veggies had to be boring? Kynd Community is a plant-based cafe in Seminyak, Bali. If you’re into vegan diet, then this place is must try for you. The place was quite small, but is definitely instaworthy. Aside from its hipster interior, the platting were also excellent .
We ordered Work It Smoothie for 59K (banana, dates, sun warrior protein powder, flax, cacao nibs, peanut butter, and coconut milk) and Berry Tropical Smoothie Bowl for 73K (dragon fruit blended with banana, mixed berries, coconut water topped with house made granola, strawberries, and banana). Everything was tasty and refreshing!
It is no secret that Bali is home to some of the best cafes and restaurants. While we enjoyed visiting all the cafes that we have been to on our trip to Seminyak, one place that won all our hearts in an instant is NOOK, a gorgeous local eatery overlooking breathtaking views of the paddy fields.
What we love about NOOK is that the cafe is tucked away from the bustling Seminyak area, but still within walking distance to the main street. Escape from the crowd and enjoy some traditional Indonesian delights that do not lose out to those you will find in warungs.
Great environment for dining and the food was mouthwatering. We ordered Nasi Campur Special, Smoked duck a 'a NOOK, Ahi Paki, Tagliatelle with spicy prawns, and Babi Guling. Undoubtedly our best meal in Bali!
There are lots of beautiful photo spots at Motel Mexicola, Bali,
