one of the biggest influences on re9 requiem that I haven't seen discussed much is Metal Gear Solid 4, from Leon's character arc to everything about Elpis.

It's a game about putting an end to a legacy born from the Cold War (The Patriots/bioweapons). A protagonist is dying from a sci-fi disease over the course of the story, a metaphor for his lingering decades-long trauma (Leon S. Kennedy/Old Snake). You revisit a famous level in ruins (Shadow Moses and the RPD).

the game ends with the vile creation of old men being destroyed by their progeny, leading to a future of peace that may itself also cause chaos (described in both as "anarchy.")

I don't think Otacon banging Naomi in MGS4 precludes the Snake x Otacon interpretation. Snake seems visibly annoyed about it happening, but it's not like Otacon did it behind his back. And Snake doesn't seem like the kind of person who'd care about his boytoy getting some strange on the side. Probably appreciates having the night off, if anything. Won't need an ice pack in the morning that way.

I know solid snake is supposed to be a copy of big boss and all… but like then why am I seeing 2 pancakes when I play snake eater and an S tier pooper trooper in MGS 4?

According to my friend I should have been able to deduce this before but I think I missed a lot because I didn't call Rose. But in my defense-

No I got no defense this is only bias. In MGS 3 I was always on the phone because I loved everyone, even the Major who I was persuaded was a traitor. But in 4 I just called Otacon.

Hashtag my beloved bias.
