specifiedhelper guide: using any font you want without having to code in html
all the fonts you use in your graphics that are so lovely? all the ones you get from dafont? you can use every single one of them in your themes without having to use any specific code ever. I know that sounds like something that would be horribly hard but its the simplest thing every okay, just go under the readmore to learn how.
Step One: Download the font off dafont or truefont or whatever you use
Step Two: Go into the html and go to the thing you want to have that font, aka your description or your posts, and where it says font-family:calibri, arial, etc just replace whatever font name its using with yours
that’s it LITERALLY thats it
i discovered this nifty trick the way i discover everything, being a lazy shit.
just in case you’re still confused, basically, i have trashhand font downloaded onto my computer, so i go to font family:arial and replace the word arial with trashhand, and viola, its on the theme and everyone else see’s it that way.
Specifiedhelper Guide: Adding + Removing Scrollbars In Html
Below the cut you will find a hella simple, headache curing, html guide to adding and removing scrollbars wherever you want on tumblr themes. I don’t know why its took me so long to figure out, probably bcuz for some reason all the other guides out there make it seem like rocket science? Whatever, enjoy.
So I don’t understand why everybody makes this seem really difficult because when I wanted to learn how to add/remove a scrollbar, I went through like 4 well-known rph’s guides and they were so complicated that I couldn’t figure it out? The only reason I know how to do it now is because I wanted rid of a scrollbar and just deleted shit till I realize.
The code for a scroll bar is this
overflow:auto;
So next, basically all you have to do is go to the thing where you want the scrollbar added/removed (ea the description, the posts, etc) and either add that code or remove it, depending on wether or not you want to add or remove a scrollbar
for example, if i wanted to remove a scrollbar my posts it would go from this
to this
and vice versa
so follow those instruction, dont touch anything else, and you should have yourself a new scrollbar or rid of one.

'Anonymous asked: would you make a guide about guns and armaments? and how to be a person who works with this stuff?'
Disclaimer that my knowledge of armaments and guns is self-taught and researched to the best of my ability, everything mentioned on gun types and so on is from the internet. The guide of how to play a character with this equipment has been seen via watching male family members and also tv/film characters. Note: Guns are not toys, don't take any of this to real life because I may have errors in my knowledge and rather not have any of you playing with guns.
How to play a person that would use this equipment:
- Know why they are using it.
This step definitely helps with playing the character that are using deadly weapons. You must know the reasoning why they own it, are they an army man or are they a mob boss that likes to push buttons? Maybe just a guy that likes to collect guns? Just decipher the need for them. Guns are mostly bought for protection, so it could be someone who has suffered an attack before and felt need to be armed.
- I’d assume some who owns and works with this is quite confident and has strength.
They’ll have no problem with a .22 caliber and the recoil, probably have muscle on their bones and a tough exterior. That being said it could be a lady in six inch heels wearing a bright pink dress, but none the less, confidence is key if you’re playing with a character who owns and has weaponry knowledge. If they own the equipment they are not going to flinch in using it. Tip: Tight grip on the gun is a good sign of control but they could also be playful if confident enough. Take a mob boss for example, to come off as a threat he’d twist the gun around his fingers and twirl it in hand, he wouldn’t flinch because he has used it frequently and flaunting it would differently bring fear. I’m not saying everyone with a gun would be confident but someone who uses a lot of it wouldn’t be wary of doing a few hand tricks.
- Care.
I know I said they could swing it around in their fingers, but that's confidence and nothing to do with care unless they are an idiot. Most guns played with will not be fully loaded or easily triggered. They will have the gun pointed floor wise or at an enemy at all times, never at back towards their own body. Take it as the don't run with scissors and hold them the right way, it's the same with a gun, only you can run if you are holding it correctly. Straight forward with arm not bent is how handguns and such are used as they are typically one handed. However rifles and such are shoulder guns and take two hands with one arm bent at the elbow to hold the trigger while the other will balance.
- Protective.
They are not going to take kindly to others hands on their stuff, if you own a gun it’s for protection and to be a threat, no bigger threat than a pissed off person with someone trying to touch their loaded gun. A military man or police officer would be a person you would not place hands on a gun, mostly because it’s probably in hand or in their pockets so you can use an elbow to the face or use the gun bottom to knock them on the top of the head.
- Smart and ahead of the game
Owning armament puts you automatically one step a head but if you are using items of such power on a daily basis you need a form of intelligence and especially know how to hide arms if you aren’t meant to have them. This could also play off as a secretive part of a character, it may be known they own a gun, but will have people unknowing that is currently on their persons unless they are someone of serious authority. Working some of this equipment is tough and intricate, it needs someone with the right mind to do so. A character that isn’t fully prepped or intelligent on something like a grenade would be dead in minutes of having it in hand unless it’s pure luck they do it correctly.
- Focused.
I’d want a clear mind and a good headstrong view if using such items. Many would be training themselves with target practice and steadying themselves. They are going to have steady hands, no shakes or bumps, target locked right on the spot and eye on the prize kind of people. Only way they are going to be put off a shot is if someone distracts them with a tackle.
- Easily irritated
Tackling brings me onto irritation, you miss a shot? You may have a serious temper and get flustered, so someone interrupts your shot you may find your target turning round to be your new attacker or the closest tree and/or tire that is closest in your aim.
- Thrill-seeker/Power hunger.
Arms in hand can be from a person needing control, whether that being in protecting themselves or controlling those in the surroundings. Some thrill seek with a gun, you get a taste of that power and you’ll be out every night on a hunt, it may not even be an animal hunt. You hold a powerful weapon in your hand, that extends strength and floods through your system, it makes you feel unstoppable. If the right personality gains a gun it is destruction for all.
The Armaments
Words to know:
Gauge: (Used to explain the shotgun): Is the diameter of the barrel. In simple terms the size of the bullet.
Caliber: (Other firearms that aren’t the shotgun): The approximate internal diameter of the barrel or the diameter of the projectile it fires.
Recoil: The backfire from a gun, you shoot a gun and it’s going to bite back in the strength of the shot. So, to explain better is when the idiot in a movie shoots a gun and ends up with a broken noise when his arm bounces back, that is the recoil. What I’ve picked up in the smaller the caliber/gauge the bigger the recoil.
Rounds: How many shots you fire before you have to reload.
Types of guns/armaments, I’m only going to go through a few, but hopefully you get a few useful things here:
Semi-automatic Pistol (CZ 99 or G27 specifics) Also known as a form of Handgun.
The most frequently owned due to an easy hide and all the good guys in the movies typically have at any given moment. They are for close encounters and not far off hits, you have to get real close to your target for the pistol to cause any serious damage. The CZ 99 and G27 both have a .40 gauge which makes the recoils not as heavy, meaning that if you are weak and inexperienced you won’t be bouncing back on the wall after a shot. Typically pistol rounds are from 14-20 shots.
Shotgun
Generally the gun that you would find hidden in the bottom of a drawer or handbag of anyone that wants to feel safe would have. Shotgun is easiest to use as within close range, even with an awful aim, can do serious damage, accuracy with these guns isn’t so important. However these guns won’t do much damage with a range of 20-30 yards. Generally will hold up to five or six shots and the caliber that’s typically used is .12 or .20. For a less harsh recoil the .20 gauge is recommended.
AR-15
A bigger gun for a wider shot and best in the hands of someone who knows how to shoot especially with the caliber of .223 which is perfect for powerful medium distance shots, but this also means best in hands of someone who can control a harsh recoil. Not a good gun for a close enemy but if shooting from a bit of distance then this gives you a great shot and typically up to 300 meters. It would typically hold around 30 rounds of shots so reloading is less frequent. These guns also use the same ammunition as police, National Guard and even Homeland security.
Rifle
Typically used as a hunting gun by home owners, it can shoot 300-600 yards and designed to be fired from the shoulder. The standard caliber used by the world’s militaries tend to follow worldwide trends of .50 or .59 which is believed to cause the most damage.
Machine Gun:
The big one. Typically mounted and able to repeat rounds of shots in constant succession, built to shoot at several hundred rounds a minute. They can be held in arm, but best when mounted in place. The most successful of the machine gun is the M2 with a .50 caliber, used on vehicle and aircrafts. Shooting at a 1,830 metres and still causing a heavy amount of damage.
Grenades:
A small bomb held by hand but there is also grenade launchers that launch grenades with much more accuracy. There is different types of grenade, explosive, stun, smoke and many more. To use a grenade you must hold down on the safety lever while you remove a safety pin/ring with another finger which you then must make the fast throw towards your target.
Biological/Chemical weapons:
The ability to spread disease and cause slow painful deaths, these are usually by overhead capsules that are dropped however these can be done with grenades also but to a limited surrounding.
Hopefully this has been of some assistance and if there is anything that you feel needs correction please let me know, I will fix the error.
♡ EMMAOFRP MASTERLIST: PARA IDEAS SPECIFIC TO CERTAIN PLOTS ♡
This masterlist was requested by an anon and I couldn't help but make it! If you have any questions, or would like me to add more locations/places, lemme know! Hope this helps!
♡ TOWN RPS ♡
MEAL AT THE LOCAL FAVORITE. Usually small towns have one restaurant thats family owned, not a chain, and a place where you're completely likely to run into someone you know. If the characters need to have an important conversation, or you're just looking for a sweet date location, the local go-to would be great.
NIGHT IN THE WOODS. I live in a small town and one thing I'm surrounded by is the woods, trees, etc. I think it'd be really cool to have two characters go on a walk in the forest together, get spooked over what turns out to be tiny bugs, and just run around in the trees. If things get boring, there's a new adventure at every turn that you can add in to spice things up.
DAY IN THE CITY. A great way to develop a character is to put them out of their element and see how they react. Having two small town kids explore the big city together for a day would be not only hilarious and adorable but a good way to see how your character adapts and acts in new situations they're not always comfortable with.
♡ BOARDING SCHOOL RPS ♡
SNEAKING AWAY FROM A PARTY. If there's a party in one dorm or floor, that usually leaves all the other floors and rooms empty. It'd be a cute way for two characters to get some alone time without it being really official. They could run around and be crazy or find an abandoned room and get it on with no one knowing. Up to you!
A DAY OFF CAMPUS. These kind of days don't come around too often, but when they do, they're crazy fun. If you want to develop a relationship between two characters, have them go somewhere quiet together and explore, or just have 'em break off from the big group. Going somewhere completely different from the everyday normal routine would be a fun way to show parts of a character's personality that aren't always displayed.
TUTORING SESSIONS. Probably one of the only ways to have opposite genders in each others dorms would be through something school related, and tutoring is a great opportunity. If one character is brighter than the other it'd be cool to see how they teach, if they're annoyed easily, patient, etc. Seeing characters take on the roles of teacher and student can always prove to be fun.
♡ SUMMER BREAK RPS ♡
GOING TO BUY/SET OFF FIREWORKS. No matter what the twist is, fireworks are always fun in the summer. Having two characters who don't know much about the explosives going to the store and picking out all different kinds of quirky explosives would definitely be cute. Then, the excitement and anxiousness to see if they really work would be fun as well. This would be fun for a couple or even just friends that you want your character to get closer too.
HURRICANE. If the rp is set somewhere like Florida, or anywhere tropical, chances are theres gonna be a few tropical storms. Have the two characters alone when one hits and have the power go out. Coming up with cute ways for the two to entertain themselves as well as trying to find lights/candles/etc. would be lots of fun to write. Without any outside distractions, it would be easy to focus purely on character development.
BARBECUE. If there's lots of characters in the rp, have your character throw a BBQ. Ask whoever your para partner is to throw it with you and then focus on your two characters setting it up, grilling and trying to make it fun for everyone. It'd be a good way to see if two characters have chemistry when they're forced to work together under pressure. Then, the rest of the rp can join in too!
♡ GANG RPS ♡
FACE OFF. If two characters are from rival gangs, a face off between just two of them would be extremely fun. The could both end up at the same bar just by coincidence, but once they see each other, shit starts to go down. It'd be fun to show how your character defends his or her own gang, while throwing shade on another one. The characters could either get all up in each other's faces, start a fight the whole bar is watching, or end up making out cause of the intensity. Go wherever your writing takes you!
COFFE BREAK. Gang members are always stereotyped as very hard and scary people. So putting those members in something as normal as a Starbucks would be interesting. It'd be interesting to hav two characters meet there to do something illegal, thinking they wouldn't ever be suspected since they're doing it somewhere so simple. Or, the characters could simply try to be taking a break from the violence and discussing what's going on in the group. Whenever you take characters out of their element, it's cool.
CRIME SCENE. Have your two characters just be walking down the street when they run into a multitude of cop cars, ambulances and lots of caution tape. Deciding whether they inch closer or run away in fear of being anywhere near police would be a great way to personalize the characters. It could also lead into plots with the gang, but mostly is a great way to characterize the characters through their reactions.
♡ EMMAOFRP HOW TO: CREATE A GOOD APPLICATION FOR YOUR RP (ADMIN HELP)♡
An anon requested this and I figured it'd be useful. Under the cut you'll find an application template that I'd suggest an admin should you use for their rp and an explanation on why each part should be used. This is for a bio rp, and if you'd like me to make one for an OC rp, lemme know. Enjoy!
♡ INTRO ♡
Aright, so, the template I'm going to be putting in here is the application I used for my own rp. I think that it really helped me see who wanted a character and who was joining for the FC. I really hope that this helps out the anon and all of y'all.
♡ THE TEMPLATE ♡
✔ NAME/ALIAS, AGE, TIMEZONE.
Just the basics. No need to put anything if you’re uncomfortable sharing, love.
✔ EXPERIENCE
I don’t need to know your whole rp story just a bit about what you’ve done before and whatever you feel comfortable sharing.
✔ ACTIVITY
I’d like at least one sentence, please. Also include a number out of ten representing your activity.
✔ CHARACTER DESIRED
The name of the character that piqued your interest.
✔ SECONDARY CHOICE
I can’t stress this enough, please only fill this in if you’d play another character happily.
✔ WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS CHARACTER?
Just tell me something you liked about them, or an aspect of them you thought would be fun to play. Anything to show you’re applying for more than the fc.
✔ PARA SAMPLE
At least two paragraphs, please. IC is not required but if it comes down to it, it might land you the role. The quality of the writing is what’s more important, OOC or not.
✔ ANYTHING ELSE?
Questions, comments, concerns? Let me know.
♡ EXPLANATION: CHECK MARKS/BLOCK QUOTES ♡
Having the checks and the block-quotes makes everything 1000000% easier. It keeps it much neater in your inbox and it's neater for the applicant when they fill it out. I promise, seeing this in your inbox is much nicer than just a jumble of words.
♡ EXPLANATION: NAME/ALIAS, AGE, TIMEZONE ♡
This is pretty self-explanatory, yeah? It's important to know when all your players will be online so that they'll all be able to interact with each other. Also, don't you want to know the name behind the character?
♡ EXPLANATION: EXPERIENCE ♡
Ok so this isn't the most important thing, but it comes in handy. If your rp is a very mature rp with triggers and such, it may be good to know if the players have handled that sort of plot before or if this is their first time. Also, you'll want to know if this is their first rp so if they mess up, you can help them through it.
♡ EXPLANATION: ACTIVITY ♡
Especially now with rps dying out so quickly, you're going to want to know a player's activity level. If they're very vague about it, then you know they're not committed. It should be easy to tell if someones lying here and you'll want to know if they are. Without active members, you don't have an rp.
♡ EXPLANATION: CHARACTER DESIRED/SECONDARY CHOICE ♡
These are pretty straight-forward, but needed. It's simply there so you know who they're applying for and if they'd be willing to role play as someone else besides their first choice.
♡ EXPLANATION: WHY'D YOU CHOOSE THE CHARA ♡
This is my favorite section of the application, to be honest. As an admin, I've chosen people who've really wowed me here over applicants that had a slightly better para sample. By putting this question in the app, you're giving the applicant a great opportunity to tell you exactly why they think they should play this character. It's extremely easy to pick out who understands the character here, over someone who clearly is auditioning for the FC only.
♡ EXPLANATION: PARA SAMPLE ♡
All rps require para'ing and you're going to want to know if the player is capable of that. If a player is a good writer, than the majority of the time they're going to develop a character better. If this section is IC, well then you're in luck. IC para samples make it extremely clear who really cares about a character. But remember, don't only accept someone because they're app was IC. If someone's clearly a better writer, wowed you in the section above, but their app wasn't IC? Accept them over the one paragraph, quickly done, IC para sample.
♡ EXPLANATION: ANYTHING ELSE ♡
This is another self-explanatory section of the app. Just keep this in as a place for the applicant to request any changes to the chara or comments about the rp.
