To me this chapter, if anything, actually doubled down on Togachako
Every time Uraraka expresses her suppressed feelings, they’re about Toga, not Deku (cause Deku is a red herring)
The cliff overlooking the city is Uraraka’s favorite feelings suppression spot. The first time we saw her there (ch342) she was conflicted over her admiration of Toga’s smile and desire to save her. It was Deku who she first shared these feelings with and who encouraged Uraraka to act on them, because he could relate
Now Uraraka is back at the cliff, this time struggling with her grief over Toga. And once again it is Deku who’s there, and Deku who can relate to grieving a villain he couldn’t save
There’s not gonna be a confession cause Uraraka’s feelings for Deku are never the ones she needs to let out, it’s her feelings for Toga
Next chapter will probably be a part 2 of their first cliff side meeting. They technically accomplished what they promised back then: they stopped the villains. But neither succeeded in that other goal they shared, they couldn’t save either of them, not really
I really wonder how that conversation will go, and I hope Deku gets to express his hidden feelings of regret for Tenko too
I also want to note that chapter 342 was also when Shoto first wondered about Toya’s favorite food! Shoto just got his reply, now it’s Uraraka and Deku’s turn
