The Mhachkay is a vampiric creature from Turkish folklore. Some people are believed to be born with two hearts and two souls. These people are Mhachkay, and once identified, they are shunned from society. Typically, they will die at a young age, but one soul will remain, and the corpse will rise as an undead fiend.

Mhachkay can take the form of an owl, and will attack travelers at night, sucking their blood and devouring their internal organs. Decapitating a body believed to be a Mhachkay, and burying the head separate to the body, will prevent the creature from rising.
