Hey guys!
I’ve going back to MHS lately and I’ve been watching MHS Ride on quite a lot again so I thought it was the perfect time to post a little story.
This is an AU where the events of MHS2 take place before MHS1 (A few years after the Oltura fight). This Oneshot takes place during the first episode of MHS Ride on where the Lilia, Lute and Cheval meet Mily (the rider from MHS2 in this case) who is older than them and will eventually become their mentor as well as their big sister in some way.

Salut les amis !
J’ai commencé à rejouer à MHS ces derniers temps et à reregarder MHS Ride on alors j’ai pensé qu’il était temps de publier cette petite histoire.
C’est un UA (ou AU : Alternative universe) dans lequels les évènements de MHS2 se déroulent avant ceux de MHS1 (quelques années après la bataille contre Oltura). Ce Oneshot prends place lors du premier épisode de MHS Ride on où Lilia, Lute et Ren rencontrent Mily (qui est ici le/la rider/cavalière de MHS2) qui est plus âgée et qui deviendra leur mentor ainsi que figure de grande sœur.

The legendary rider
”This is all your fault Lute!”
”Shut your mouth for once Navirou and run!”
”Is it really the right time to argue!?”
The roars of the angry Arzuros resonated throughout the forbidden land, as Lute and his friends, who were initially looking for an egg, desperately tried to escape its giant claws.
After a fall in the river, they eventually came across an ancient statue with a white and red egg next to it. Lute, more impatient than ever, wanted to hatch it immediately. Lilia and Cheval didn’t know what to think about it but they tried to do the ritual as they learned it. It didn’t take long until a miracle unfolded before their eyes : a baby Rathalos was born and immediately came to Lute who called him ”Lias”. Unfortunately it was cut short by an unwelcome guest : the Arzuros from earlier followed them all the way here ”Stay back! It’s just a hatchling!” Lute screamed, shielding the young wyverne, who immediately spat fireballs at it, making it angrier.
”This doesn’t look good.” Cheval said paralyzed as the monster stood on its hind legs.
”Lilia, use a flash bomb!”
”I don’t have any more Navirou! We’re stuck!” She followed.
”Get down kids!” A voice resonated from afar.
Immediately something big jumped over and went right between them and the Arzuros. When they opened their eyes it appeared to be a young woman, older than them, in a Silverwind Nargacuga’s armor, riding a Rathalos, but this one had black blue wings and darker blue tones than usual ”Mily! You came right on time to save us!” Navirou screamed happily as Mily gave him a soft smile.
”Let’s go Ratha!”
Her monstie threw himself claws first right at his opponent and knocked it off. The kids looked amazed but were surprised by her next action : she got off her monstie and they could see this girl was actually a wyverian with animal-like feet and pointy ears ”Go next to the kids Ratha, ok?” She asked as he growled softly ”Good boy. Now, now, now. It’s okay.” She said softly to the terrified Arzuros ”I won’t hurt you.” She continued by sitting down.
”What is she doing?!” Lilia whispered in fear.
”Don’t worry guys, it’s a thing she does.”
”You know her Navirou?”
”Absolutely Cheval! We go way back!”
”This… This is amazing!” Lute followed with glowing eyes.
Slowly, Mily finally got close enough to the Arzuros and petted its mussel. It was finally calmed down and went back to the forest peacefully. ”Is everyone okay?” She asked worriedly.
”We’re alive and well!” Lute answered with a smile.
”All thanks to you actually.” His best friend followed shyly.
”What you did with that monster was amazing! How did you do that?” Lilia asked all giddy herself.
”I didn’t do anything special.”
”Not special? That’s like your whole thing Mily!” Navirou cheered by getting on her shoulder. ”This girl is just like her grandpa Red! A real legend! Right Ratha?” He asked the Rathalos who groaned happily.
”Take it easy there, Navirou.”
”Hold on a second, your grandpa was Red!? The Rathalos rider!?” Lilia asked in shock.
”Um…”
”Wait, those black wings… Ratha looks like the Razewing Rathalos my mother told us about.” Cheval noticed as the name made Ratha react, revealing his two colored eyes : the right one was red and blue but the other was red and purple as well a scar on his nose, similar to his two colored eyed rider.
”Oh wait! I remember that!” Lute followed ”Then that means… the Legendary rider of the wings of Ruins saved us!? That’s so cool!”
”Oh god, Navirou you actually made this a thing?”
”Yup! Everyone in Hakum village knows you under that name!”
”Wow, that’s… so amazing!” Cheval said with glowing eyes.
”No one will believe us when we get back home!”
”Yeah! Me and Lias will even be like you! Right buddy?”
All of the kids were so giddy and happy that Mily didn’t want to break in: even so far from home, they knew who she was, guess rumors spread out fast in this world too ”Lute! Lilia! Cheval! Where are you?!”
”Who’s that?” Mily asked.
”It’s Dan, he’s our teacher!” Lute answered happily.
”Hey, how about you come to our village Miss Mily.” Lilia asked.
”Mily is fine. And I don’t want to bother.”
”C’mon, you saved us, that’s the least we can do.” Cheval followed.
”Yeah it’ll be fun!”
”C’mon Mily, can’t say no to your fans right?”
”It’s not that Navirou. You forgot about my other monsties.”
”Is something wrong with them?” Lute asked.
”Well it’s not that but…”
”Finally! What are you three doing in the forbidden land!?” Dan groaned by getting closer before something jumped right on top of him and his Qurupeco ”What is that thing!?”
An Azure Rathalos was all over him, his tail wagging and his wings vibrating. ”Wow he’s beautiful!” Lilia said in awe.
”Sora! Sora get off of him!” Mily ordered as the blue wyvern took a step back ”Sorry about that sir.” She apologized by helping him get up.
”That’s fine.” He answered before taking a good look at her ”No way… That can’t be!”
”Can you believe it Dan!? It’s the legendary wings of the ruins rider!”
”Ahem!” He cleared his throat before bowing ”It’s such an honor to meet you.”
”It’s fine really sir. But I gotta say it’s an honor to meet a rider teacher, that’s so cool!” She answered with a bright smile making him blush.
”Say Dan, can Miss Mily come with us?” Lilia asked by holding the older rider’s hand.
”She can even stay at our house, we have an extra room.” Cheval followed.
”Yeah! Plus she could teach us stuff! Pleeaaaase?”
”Well… If she isn’t busy then I sure don’t mind.”
Mily hesitated at first to just invite herself there but the kids’ « please face » were impossible to say no to ”Okay, okay I’ll come.”
”Yeah!”
”Awesome!”
”But… Do you guys have free stables?”
”Sure! We got a whole set of empty ones in case we got visitors.” Dan answered ”Why do you ask?”
They were about to find out soon enough as a new adventure begins for Mily and her new rider friends.
Oops, Star Wars AU
I've been watching Clone Wars again teehee Lute is a padawan learner in this wacky and zaney AU! SUPER sensitive with the force; very good at connecting with creatures. NOT so good in the physical department. Not a huge fan of fighting, has lofty ideas about actually helping people. Navirou is a Loth cat, obviously. Look at him. Lute isn't exactly supposed to have the creature. Ratha is probably going to be a space wyvern or something uuuh I haven't gotten that far yet. More to come!
