Ok first impressions are kind of.... humorous for me? Granted, it's too early to say how intentional that is, but the odd mix of serious vibes™ and super cliche illogical decisions the characters are making made me laugh out loud more often than I expected going into it 😭 I don't actually mind it (I'm starting to get what fanservice galore is about) but it is funny. I can see why some would get icked out by it tho. It's a fun mix of old re and new re
Reading through my old stuff made me so relieved I got to branch out into English before the AI craze came to be...... My old writing sounds so AI-like to me now, I find it kind of hard to enjoy it, and that's a consequence of generative AI I definitely wasn't expecting at all, oof 💀
Suddenly I feel absolutely terrible for all the non-English speaking writers starting out finding their writing groove. I honestly can't imagine all the daunting stress and anxiety and insecurity that comes with being a beginner writer in today's online experience
I’ve been thinking a lot about my relationship with creating. I love creating when I’m just immersing myself in a world that exists in my head. When I have a story and characters I’m trying to bring to life. But I live in America, so I feel like everything has to have a monetary value. I’m 23 and that’s still young, but I feel like I missed out when I was in high school. My mom dissuaded me from pursuing creative writing when I first entered college because there’s less job security. If you aren’t doing something that makes you a lot of money then it isn’t worth it basically.
That’s bullshit. Writing, whether for money or not, takes a lot of work. Especially if you don’t have the best of mental health, like me. It’s scrapping when you’ve lost your way and starting from scratch, rewriting once, twice, maybe more, and editing in so many ways that they have different branches of editing to cover the bases. So it’s work.
And if I’m doing all of that work I have to get something out of it right? Or at least that’s how this society has taught me to think of it. If I’m spending time on it then getting joy out of it isn’t enough for me. I feel guilty about writing like I do about playing video games or sleeping. Life has taught me that I’m supposed to be making something of value to everyone, not just me, at every waking moment.
For the record that’s not true. Which is why from now on I’m not worrying about publishing in the future or anything like that. If I write for myself and practice then I’ll naturally get better at writing and things will fall into place. I don’t have to prove to anyone that my writing has value because it’s valuable to me. As someone who grew up under an extremely controlling and abusive mother this was really hard to accept. Nothing I did growing up was ever solely for me, it was always for the family. But this is mine, even if I do end up sharing it in the future.
Anyway sorry to just suddenly start blogging a whole bunch then drop this on y’all. I was thinking about this all week though.

with the latest cortis' W pictorials release, it feels like something is off? wdym a 17 year old boy dresses like that? not with the alarming numbers of predators that may sexualize them in many ways now.
fashion is broad — i hope the brands and magazines don't exploit them with that kind of fashion. maybe this is just my opinion but i feel kind of overwhelm when i first saw it.
lets be healthy with this whole situation. protect and support for whatever that is good for them. i hope their label can at least be more protective after this.
