51 years ago today.
The Miami incident was ridiculous. The authorities were just out to get Jim and make an example of him and they didn’t care how it affected him in the process. If he did everything they accused him of why wasn’t he arrested that nite? Why was it days later that there was a warrant for his arrest? That entire concert was nothing but chaos so I don’t know how they can say for sure he exposed himself. I do not think he exposed himself. There are numerous pictures from that nite and yet not one of them shows him exposing himself. I think if he had there would be a picture of it floating around somewhere. In my opinion, the only thing they really could have gotten him on for that nite was public intoxication.
As for the trial and conviction, I think it crushed his already broken spirit. It makes me sad because Jim deserved so much better.
