Mica Shift earrings made out of Fimo, gold wire, golden ear hooks. Made with Lisa Pavelkas amazing stamps and the general recipe fom Donna Katos book: "The Art of Polymer Clay". Before I read the chapter in the book about mica shift I never really got mica shift because even after several tutorials from the internet it would not work for me. Only after I read the chapter something clicked andd here we go: Mica Shift.

Mokume Gane and Mica Shift in Progress

The students in class have really taken to the mokume game and mica shift techniques this past week. The field trip the the Racine Art Museum was extremely inspiring for everyone and I just could not get them to stop experimenting!  Students have also been giving their class presentations on master polymer artists such as Kathleen Dustin, Nan Roche, Dan Cormier, Melanie West, and Pier Voulkos.  We've been checking in on the various blogs about the EuroSynergy Conference, which looks even more thrilling than last years conference. Of course, it's hard to beat a location like Malta!
