They’d been warned of flooding and even though they were placing whatever they could around the doors, Mason knew from experience that it was only a matter of time before the water began to find it’s way into the building. A group had started trying to move anything that looked valuable or easily damaged onto higher ground but within the school, there was limited space, especially with how many people now littered the hall.
Hauling a bag into a cupboard high up on the wall, Mason made sure the owner had note of where it was before wandering back to see what else he could help with. He’s been keeping an eye on the animals in the shelter, given them a classroom to be in if the amount of people got too much for them. Being around animals was his happy place, it kept him calm and gave him something to do.
As he entered the hall once more, his eyes scanned around, trying to find a familiar face or someone who seemed to be giving orders on what needed to be done. He did a double take as he caught sight of an all too familiar blonde. An ex-girlfriend, a very close friend. Making his way over to her, Mason snuck up behind her, leaning in so he could speak close to her ear. “Why is it that whenever there’s drama in this town, this blonde is never too far away?” @priorsmicah
