The abilities of Tracer in Overwatch are simple to understand, but provide an interesting depth of use that makes the character remarkably effective. By being able to Blink (instant teleport) up to 3 times, even across gaps, the character is able to be quick to act with their movement, jumping around enemy players and reaching important key points on map much more efficiently than many of their counterparts. That, coupled with a spread of gunfire that works best when up close, and the ability to Recall (rewind back to a previous position and amount of health) means that the character encourages players to move on the offensive very aggressively, taking risks that other characters would need a healer to back them up on.

Roadhog’s Hook and Scrap Gun are excellent representatives of the symbiosis that each character’s abilities are able to provide in Overwatch. Roadhog excels at close-quarters-combat, with his primary method of attack shooting wide and strong and his high maximum health allowing him to keep attacking for extending periods. However, he’s a relatively slow moving character (especially when dealing with a character like Tracer or Lucio), and so his ability to Hook and bring enemy characters to him is invaluable to the rest of his skillset.
